In the sports illustrated with matt leinert on the cover there is a nice hug pic of AJ Hawk with some good info about him. Since i go to osu, i am obviously a fan, so i read it, but most of you prolly looked right over who his nfl role model is....Zack Thomas. AJ says he is a huge fan of Zack and he watches his game film all the time. He says its tough to compare anyone to thomas because he makes the plays he isnt supposed to and hes "too small" but that never seems to stop him.

that also shows how good zack really is

besides reading this article i have seen AJ around campus many times and he is a very nice guy, i have been watching him play since HS because his HS was in my HS conference, and this guy is so good he is under-rated.

i would love to have this guy but i know its highly unlikely because he have lots more needs in the 1st round next year besides LB

just thought id share this with you

AJ hawk is good, but Paul Posluzny, MLB from Penn State, reminds me a lot ZT. He is tough, and always hawking the ball. If you have watched Penn State this season, you know who and what I'm talking about.

i do know what you are talking about
i cant disagree with what you said

but im a little baised when i say AJ Hawk is better

AJ Hawk is gonna be a star if we could fill our other needs in free agency this off season i would love to see us pick him up......we would have 2 stud lbs of the future with him and channing.

AJ Hawk will be a good one, and yes if we were able to fill some needs at other positions during free agency then it wouldnt be a bad idea to draft a LB. The only thing is, I don't believe we would be able to get a franchise LT in free agency because they are a premium in the league. Never know tho.

AJ Hawk is ridiculous, he should be considered one of the top defenders in the draft if not the top defender. But, that said, Ohio State has two other LBs, bigger ones, who would look good at OLB in this defense. We don't need Zach's replacement yet. Zach is still here. You have to time these things closer, you don't want a guy sitting on the bench two years while Zach continues to play lights out for us...

Except for the fact that Hawk is like 6'1", 240. Wouldn't mind Carpenter(6'3" 255) or Schlegal(6'1" 251) All will be real good pros IMO. Even D'Andrea (the odd man out) will be good too. He's 6'3" 248 and would start for most teams in the country

AJ Hawk will be a faster Dan Morgan....hopefully a healthier one 2.

Dan Morgan has the 2nd fastest 40 time at UM for a LB.. He may be fast for Ohio State but believe Dan Morgan before he put on the 30 pounds he did for the NFL was the fastest white boy UM had ever seen. Those of you who follow UM know what I mean

Zach is nowhere near as fast as AJ is

Hawk has Julian Peterson/Derrick Johnson type speed

Thomas is what he is....an undersized LB whos not very fast, but gets his share of tackles.

Thomas will be 33 next year, and with the changes coming next offseason, he could find himself on a new team come 2K6

Gotta love it. Hawk and Carpenter both look great. Should be an interesting first round for linebackers.

Everytime I watch Posluzny... He reminds me of Zach as well. First junior team captain since sometime in the 60's I think I heard. He certainly does that #31 justice with the likes of Shane Conlan and Andre Collins wearing that number. But Carpenter at OSU I think is a slightly better NFL prospect. Him and AJ play so well and even more so consistently.

Yes Carpenter is a stud too, .... especially with those 4 sacks against michigan st., possibly the best offensive team in the big ten

When i first saw carpenter in the begginning of the season, I said to myself, "i would definately not to go head up with that guy. AJ Hawk who?"
