Akili Smith, the third overall pick in the 1999 NFL draft, was cut by the Green Bay Packers Tuesday.

He could be the third QB until Griese comes back.

Lon Sherrif is a better option than Smith at this point... he couldn't make the Packer team as a 3rd....

I would take him. The Fins were starting negotiation talks with Akili when talks with Griese paused because the agent wanted a 2 year deal and Fins wanted a one year deal.

Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles can read a defense better then this guy !! A Smith has absolutely NO clue as to what to look for when a defense lines up across from him ...
