akin ayodele to OLB?

Ayodele in college was DE who looking was only beaten by R colvin for sacks at purdue.

I agree we have depth at OLB and struggling at ILB, but naturally being DE playing OLB in 4-3 for Jags and MLB in 3-4 for us and cowboys, shifting him now to an OLB in 3-4 with previous experience ......you would assume he wld be an even better fit.

I know one thing - he is def not a natural ILB and i would love 2 big nasty ILB from draft to compete for spot opp Crowder.
 
if we want to get better he needs to make the transition to BACKUP IMO.

Ayodele didn't play MLB, he played the WILB...Crowder was the MLB/SILB.

How do you figure that? Ayodele led our LBs with 2 INTS and passes defensed. He is our best pass defending LB. And a good tackler. Oh, and a Parcells guy....:D

Its not really a knock on him.. He's a good player, and would be a GREAT role player, i just don't like having him as a starter, i feel he can be upgraded through the draft or FA... you are correct though.
 
i personally dont like ayodele. but he has to stay inside. porter already on one side. roth/wake on the other. ayodele needs to stay inside. i think he is a little to big to play OLB. you have to be fast if you play OLB. ayodele will stay inside. probably see him starting next to bart scott. crowder wont get resigned. i hope he does. but he wont.

You mean quick like Matt Roth??
 
Akin i am not fond of. he's an ok LB, he's aging, he seems to care too mcuh about modeling clothes and stuff.... when Crowder was hurt and not in... Akin looked like he was so lost, got enveloped inside, filled nothing, was jsut absent. yeah he made some nice plays in the passing game... but we need more than that.

putting him to OLB is jsut nonsense too, unneeded... he'll jsut fall in the depth chart there if anything.

But why did we get players like Charlier Anderson and sign him to decent contract when Akin, looking at his history would be better suited to OLB in 3-4.

And why dont we use Matt Roth like Baltimore use J.Johnsona nd formelly A. Thomas. Im not saying he as gd, not far of JJ but consider this pass rush on 3rd downs

The what?

When is the last time you saw Fergeson or our ends drop into coverage? Merling's play doesn't count. He diagnosed that one from it's embryo.

That is because the NT normally never goes into coverage. That would defeat their purpose in a 3-4 since they have to protect the linebackers.

That Merling play was great instincts and he should starting there next year.

where in the lineup mentioned do you see the name J Ferguson???????????

Even R Ryan and B Belicheck take Ngata and Wilfork out on certain Pass rushing downs.
