Georgia is obviously the pit of misery after Super Bowl and National Championship chokes by their local teams.

It is not like Saban won NCs right out of the gate. He coached 8 or so years as an HC before he won an NC with his 3rd team.
Sometimes coaches win the big one the second or third time around. Only thing you can hold against Richt is that he stayed that long at Georgia (if you feel better you can blame Georgia for holding on to him too long).
