Dolphins | Alabi shifted to guard
Fri, 22 Sep 2006 11:19:32 -0700<A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins OL Anthony Alabi has been shifted from offensive tackle to guard and will serve as a backup heading into Week 3.

Dont know if anyone saw this... but Alabi got shifted to guard.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are...if anyone else on the O-line goes down Wes Welker may get shifted there as well.

...ooooh maybe not such a bad idea anyway.:D

Yes, lets put a 180lb reciever on the interior of our line. :(

I know you're joking, but even humoring the idea is ridiculous.

The O-line is rediculous.........

i agree with endorphin not to put wes thier but welker is one of the only players on our team that comes out to play every sunday and plays well!

Wow, for an Official chill out and be patient member, you sure took that obvious piece of sarcasm hard.

The good news is that this should get him on the field and expidite his 'learning' ... with Carey, Shelton and McIntosh -- he won't get much time at T ....

I see nothing bad about this move ... everything is positive ...

Honest to God I think if Welker went in for an Oline man he would do ok. He gets the job done whatever it is.

Runblocking might be tough though at 180. :D

Yeah, you're right...he should be moved to Right Tackle and Carey moved to the interior...:D

He does have the BIGGEST heart on the team though.

If everyone on the team had Welker's heart, the 72' guys would be passing the champaigne to theses Fins.

I like alabi, and if he can turn into a possible starter there, that'd be amazing.

Maybe oneday we'll spend a high pick on a lineman...
other than Carey.

Like 2 of 3 first day picks and a couple in day 2 if the quality is there.

There's no way Wes is 180. They always inflate players weights, he's closer to 170 than 180 IMO.

Considering how little depth the Dolphins have at guard, I imagine Saban playing Alabi there is more or less playing the best 5 linemen on the team.
