BLUESTIGIDY
Too many MC's not enough MICS!
Saw him play at USC numerous times and the boy is no joke. He dominates at the point of attack and has great hands for a TE, specially in the red-zone. Good blocking tight end and as smart as they come. Penalties have killed Donald Lee in the past and I think that it might be a problem this season as well. Alex Holmes is very bright and probably won't have those kind of probs as he's been very coachable and a team first guy.... The only knock on AH is that he's had a history of injury probs including a season ending back injury in 03' during the Orange Bowl. I'm pretty pumped over our FA signings (Kay-Jay, Josh Davis) and I hope AH is able to crack a roster spot.:D

Holmes is a quality all-around player. He is solid as a blocker and can contribute as a receiver. He has excellent size and excels at inline blocking. Holmes succeeds by doing all the little things well. He has reliable hands, runs good routes, and uses his big body well to shield defenders. Holmes is a smart player, able to find the open area and set up camp. However, he lacks top speed. Holmes' worth will come as a blocker; he can control the line of scrimmage and uses his strong legs to give himself a powerful base to hold and finish his blocks. The only knock on Holmes is his durability. He has had some pretty bad injuries in the past, the most frightening being in his back. If he can stay healthy, he could get a shot as a backup or blocking tight end.
