More than anything, the Dolphins need speed.

They’re desperate for speed at linebacker. Frankly, that group is woeful. For some reason, the Dolphins, and many others, have convinced themselves that Kiko Alonso is a viable 3-down option. He offers some range in the run game, but he stinks in coverage – a liability on passing downs.

They also need speed and range at safety, which would allow them to play in more “big nickel” and move or rotate Reshad Jones all over the field. Their cornerback group was better than expected in 2016, but they could use more bodies.

On offense, they’ll look at the interior spots. Guard is the biggest concern, but I expect them to look at a swing player who can fill in at center when Mike Pouncey is inevitably hurt or kick outside to tackle if necessary.

Pretty spot on, though I don't understand the overlook need of DE.

Starting to really warm up to Foster at 22. That would be a steal from a pure football perspective, just needs to stay clean.

That`s the million question with him, is can he stay clean? Too many red flags with him.

Didn't we just get rid of a Foster like athlete?

No, Dion Jordan has bad knees or something, he isn't on the team because he couldn't even pass a freaking physical. He was clean coming into the league and I think his first failed pee test was because of steroids, very different from pot. Something is up with Jordan that goes way beyond substance abuse, I don't think his heart is really in the game or maybe his health is troubling. Foster has a lot of red flags, granted, but if the doctors clear him I think we need to take a chance. He was an absolute stud at Bama, far more so than Jordan ever was at Oregon. He literally just needs to stay clean and stay out of trouble, I remember another prospect like this that I REALLY wanted out of LSU with similar red flags. But instead of the Honeybadger we took the "safe" pick in that Boise State CB that was so bad I can't even remember his name anymore :bobdole:

really starting to warm up to the idea of safety help allowing reshad to play more at the LOS and assist in the run-game...it's a big part of what makes him special IMO

Hassan Reddick at 22, or Tyus Bowser at 54.

Teez Tabor...he can be had in the 5th round on.

Forrest Lamp at 22, or Dan Feeney at 54.

SoS, be honest, you just like that they took big pot shots at Kiko.

I'd say it is just another half-azz analysis honestly. They ignore Cam Wake's age and recent injuries, skip over the sub-par pass rush of Branch and Hayes. They completely fail to address that aside from Suh and now Hayes our entire DL is horrible against the run. The avoid addressing Reshad Jones' injury fill ins.

Then the injury history of Julius Thomas, which is worse than Koa Misi, as our TE, and an OK that lost the talented Branden Albert and replaced him with journeyman Ted Larsen.

Meh, that article looks like all the rest ... very little research into the Dolphins and very little insight.

To be fair, he's in the minority when it comes to Alonso, he gets ton of heat for it over here, I dont see anything wrong with posting articles that agree with his point of view. I also agree with the premise that Alonso is an overrated player, and benefited greatly from being at the right place at the right time. I think most of his highlights were more about scheme than instincts and most of his blunders went unnoticed...
