All this Harbaugh talk and nobody is mentioning this coach as an option?????

No, I'm just saying that for many people Don Shula is considered one of the greatest coaches off all time. Thinking Mike McCarthy isn't that great because he only won 1 super bowl with Rodgers is crazy because Marino is the Goat and failed to win a Super Bowl with Shula has his coach. Does that mean Don Shula wasn't a very good coach? No, of course not. I would also like to add that McCarthy is not my first choice but he would be over any "hot name" rookie head coach.

You have a point, even HOF coaches paired with HOF qbs don't automatically equal championships.

Even counting a Jerry Jones handicap in Dallas, those playoff losses were ugly, so I'd rather gamble on someone other than McCarthy as HC.

McCarthy's Dallas teams did well in the regular season, then flamed out badly in the playoffs. Not just getting beat, but bullied.

McCarthy had prime Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and again, had great regular seasons, but only won 1 SB with Rodgers.

If you want to have good regular seasons but do nothing in the playoffs, he's your guy.
Funny enough, that’d be a 10000% upgrade over what we’ve had for 25 years!!!

I don’t believe anyone is the “savior.” We need a GM who can draft, a coach that develop/utilize talent and the right group of guys who build a culture of accountability, toughness and high standards.

But having said that, MM had a top 5 all time QB and only managed to win 1 SB with him. Lamar did play well last year but most of his playoff career he looks lost reading defenses and turning the ball over. I think MM or JH are significantly better than anyone Miami has had in decades. But I think MM significantly underperformed and would take JH over him.
Same with Sean Payton....he had Drew Brees and won only once with him... I think everyone would agree that Sean is doing a damn good job in Denver.

We have been lost in mediocreville from HC to HC, regime change to regime change, all first time HC's making the same mistakes over and over, and mostly have been embarrassed in playoff games, or at end of seasons just trying to make the playoffs.

McCarthy gets a bum rap, but GB was always in the mix every year...sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way.

Don Shula and Jimmy Johnson, our 2 best coaches ever couldn't win with Marino.

I have been getting roasted on this site saying I dont want Harbaugh and that he is not an elite coach, and everytime I ask someone to tell me why they want harbaugh and what he brings to the table they tell me he has won a super bowl, he has .614 winning percentage and is 13 and 11 in the playoffs..........Yet there is another coach out there who also has a super bowl ring, winning percentage of .608 and is 11 and 11 in the playoffs but I have not heard his name mentioned once as a possible coach......Mike McCarthy..........Please do not take this as me saying I want McCarthy as a head coach, I think he is an avg head coach at best, but he has almost identical stats as Harbaugh who everyone is saying is the second coming of Shula.......tell me the difference between these 2, what does Harbs bring that McCarthy does not......
Average coach at best huh? Good Lord, he wasn't Barry Switzer walking in to a ready-made team winnIng a SB.

Comparison of their team results over career compared to league. Only a couple categories under 50% for each. Harbaugh weak passing grade, McCarthy weak defense. The rest are all above average. Harbaugh wins 19 categories to McCarthy's 11.

Tough crowd here. Outside of the hoodie, has there been coaches that have won the Super Bowl more than one or two times? Sean Peyton? Anyone else?

Sean Payton only has one.

Honestly just making the playoffs 3 out of 4 years like we use to in 90s sounds good to me lol. Sign me up for McCarthy if that is what he delivers. lol. I miss playing in playoffs
