So many of you are going to very disappointed when he is taken before we even get a shot a him. He isn't the player you guys seem to think he is. You'll also be very glad when it's someone else's bad pick, and not ours. Believe it or not Cameron is trying to win now. If he weren't there would be no reason to keep Taylor and Thomas on the roster. If we did take draft Quinn he won't be an effective qb for a couple of years, and by that time the heart and soul of our defense will be gone. So I ask you. What does Quinn really do for this team, this year ? If we take a qb it will likely be in the second.

2 reasons

1.it wont cost us additional picks

2. He will be given time to develope because they won't be the pressure of inflated expectations due to simply because they were drafted in the first round

Disclaimer If we do draft Quinn I will support the move, reluctantly :)

A 2nd rounder will still have tremendous pressure. Any QB that comes here is subject to a lot of expectations simply because they'll be in the shadow of Marino.

Not all QB's taken in the first round are thrown into the fire their rookie seasons (Carson Palmer, Phillip Rivers), and not all QB's who play their first year are overwhelmed (any first round QB from last year). Quinn is one of the smartest and most prepared QB's to hit the NFL in a while, I doubt he will have as hard a time adjusting as most other rookie QB's.

This is your opinion, some agree with you, some don't. But there are a lot of coaches, scouts, general managers and media that don't agree with you, or else he wouldn't be considered so high in the draft and if he were as bad as you indicate he obviously wouldn't even be a first round prospect.
Its kind of curious that you talk about how bad he is or someones "bad pick" and in the same breath you say he more than likely will be gone before the 9th pick. Isn't it kind of contradictory that he is a bad player but he is also a top ten pick.
Sure there is the chance of him being a bust but evidently a lot of people see something in him or a lot of these same personnel people would be saying the same as you and he would be dropping.
Having said all that Captain Lou, you are probably right, someone will take him before the Dolphins have a chance and this will be all for naught.

What's the point of drafting a QB in the 2nd round, if he won't be an effective qb for a couple of years?

even if we were planing for the future why would ZT JT not be on the team. cuz they are getting old? they are still preforming at there top of there game. ZT lead the league with takles by 10 takles and JT was DMVP.

Please, any QB taken in the first 4 rounds will be looked at as the future, look at the past QB's since Dan.

And just look at this site, any QB on this team will either be loved or hated, it does not matter if your name is Quinn, Culpepper, Green, Fiedler etcc.

We were spoiled by Marino.

If we draft Quinn I will run around my block in my Fins boxer shorts singing and dancing.

Why???? He gives us hope!

That and the fact that Brady Quinn is the most prepared rookie since he has been playing under pro-style offense with Charlie Weiss as coach.
Also i can't remember a good 2nd rounder as QB in his drafting team.

any QB is gonna have a lot of expectations here, period. We haven't had one of those in a long long time, and many of the fans here still remember what good quarterbacking looked like.

But we are still nowhere near as bad as the fickle New York market, which eats people alive. I mean, we still had people defending Joey Harrington until the very end. My guess is that Quinn would be warmly received, and the fan base would be patient for about three years.

does the name drew brees mean anything to you?

All this talk of winning now, and not rebuilding.

Brady Quinn is not the definition of rebuilding. Brady Quinn is the replacement for a man that retired too long ago for us to be talking about replacing him.

Year after Year I post to draft a QB, and every year this team has failed to do that exact thing.

It will not shock me that we will not draft a QB this year.

Maybe Ray Lucas will sign and we have a third QB on the roster....
