Ok guys. It's off season, we have some down time.
How bout an "All time Dolphin team"
This would be your ultimate lineup.

To make it easier, let's not specify different sides of the formation.
EX; no need to pick a left guard and a right guard. Just pick the two best guards.

Offense:

QB: Dan the Man
WR: Paul Warfield, Mark Clayton
TE: Bruce Hardy
RB: Mercury Morris
FB: The Zonk
OT: Richmond Webb, John Geisler
OG: Larry Little, Kuech
C: Jim Langer

Defense:

DE: Bill Stanfill, Jason Taylor
DT: Bob Baumhauer, Manny Fernandez
LB: Nick, Zach,John Offerdahl( I know they all played the middle, but, they are the best.)
CB: Sam Madison, Curtis Johnson
S: Jake Scott, Dick Anderson

P: Reggie Roby
K: Garo

Punt Returner: Jake Scott
Kick Returner: Fulton Walker
All Around Special Teams guy: Larry Izzo

Imagine this lineup on the feild together in ther prime.

I agree with you on most of those picks, with the possible exception of the center and place kicker positions. Although Jim Langer was great(HOF), I'd have to lean more towards Dwight Stephenson at C. And as PK, I'd have to lean a little more towards Olindo. We've been blessed with 3 great PK's in Stoyanovich, Yepremian, and Mare.

 :D

Need to add an all purpose position: Jensen(QB,WR,PR, TE, etc....)

BB

Since it's the offseason, I go a step further!!

I'm going to fill out the roster!! :p

OFFENSE

QB - Dan Marino, Bob Griese, Don Strock
RB - Ricky Williams, Mercury Morris, Jim Kiick
FB - Larry Csonka, Tony Paige, Keith Byars
WR - Paul Warfield, Mark Duper, Mark Clayton, Chris Chambers, O.J. McDuffie
TE - Bruce Hardy, Keith Jackson, Marv Fleming

OT - Richmond Webb, Norm Evans, Wayne Moore, Todd Wade
OG - Larry Little, Bob Keuchenburg, Mark Dixon,
C - Dwight Stevenson, Jim Langer

K - Olindo Mare
P - Reggie Roby

DEFENSE

DE - Bill Stanfill, Jason Taylor, Doug Betters, Vern Den Herder, Trace Armstrong
DT - Manny Fernandez, Bob Baumhauer, Daryl Gardener, Larry Chester, Tim Bowens

LB - Zach Thomas, John Offerdahl, Nick Buoniconti, Bryan Cox, Doug Swift, A.J. Duhe, Mike Kolen

CB - Sam Madison, Curtis Johnson, Troy Vincent, Patrick Surtain
S - Dick Anderson, Jake Scott, Brock Marion, Louis Oliver

HEAD COACH - Don Shula

Louis Oliver was mentioned, but what about his sidekick Jarvis Williams??

I had to go with my hometown hitter, Oliver. ;) Good for special teams.

I don't know about Chester on it or even Williams since they never played as fins and Wade hasn't really played enough to earn a spot either. The same goes for Chambers. I don't have any doubts about these people on it in a few years, but they shouldn't be on it now.

pretty solid selections
Here are the only places I disagree:
Offense:

QB: Jay Fielder j/k ;)
TE: Bruce Hardy or Keith Jackson - too close to call
C: Dwight Stephenson

Defense:

DE: Bill Stanfill, Vern Den Herder
LB: Nick, Zach,John Offerdahl( I know they all played the middle, but, they are the best.) - there really are not too many good OLBPhins - Steve Towle ?

Punt Returner: Freddie Solomon

The problem that I always had with Keith Jackson, was that he seemed to be all talk.
He never really played up to his past level when he was a fin.
Too many fumbles and bonehead plays.
Seemed like he would try to lateral once every game.
Remember the lateral in that one playoff game? Was it against the Jills?
Just too many bonehead plays from him.
Freddie Solomon as PR, that's a good one.
Nat Moore deserves some consideration, as well.

i remember it well!

it was jan 9 1995, in a 22 to 21 loss to the chargers. keiths lateral was bad enough, but who called that run out of the endzone, when dan telegraphs his handoffs, has got to be the dumbest play ever called!

My explanation

I interperated Scot's meaning to be "Your Ultimate Lineup", the key word being "your". Merit is not confined to time served and stats on my team for the most part. It's about guys in a Dolphin uniform. After all, those men ARE part of the team and will be for some time.

And I'd if I was picking a team to line up to play tomorrow, I'd have those four on my Ultimate Roster. Williams is better than any tailback we've ever had. Chambers is as talented as anyone. And Chester is a big time run-stopper.

As for Wade, I saw enough of him in 2000 to put him on my roster. Remember, last offseason everyone and their mother was congratulating us on finding our RT for the next decade or so. Unfortunately, this year's injury-plagued campaign is what is fresh on everyone's mind.

QB - Josh Heupel
RB - JJ Johnson
TE - Hunter Goodwin
WR - Thrill Hill
WR - Yatil Green
OT - Billy Milner
OT - Andrew Greene
OG - Heath Irwin
OC - Grey Ruegamer

DE - Steve Emtman
DT - Barron Tanner
LB - Audrey Beavers
LB - Scott Gaylon
LB - Brad Jackson
CB - Dorian Brew
CB - JB Brown
S - Gene Atkins
S - Calvin Jackson

K - Joe Nedney
P - Bartholomew
PR - Jeff Ogden

Ooops, wrong list.....hehe
