The Oakland Raiders will hire Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as head coach, according to league sources.
The two sides spent much of Tuesday night hammering out an agreement and the contract is agreed to in principle but has not been signed, sources said.

Will Moss at least get a look? or are we probably gonna go with Coyle and switch to a 4-3

Packers will allow assistants to leave if it means they will get a promotion with another team, but they cant leave if its a lateral move, so Moss would be fair game

Packers won't let Moss leave to be a DC. Remember of their current defensive staff he's the ONLY one that was with the team before 2009 (every other coach was fired after the defense really underperformed in 2008), and they have denied interviews with him for DC in the past.

No chance for Moss or any Packers assistants. It is going to be Kevin Coyle IMO. The question is he a 3-4 or 4-3 guy.

he is a 4-3 guy and Ireland is already telling his college scouts to scout 4-3 players "Ireland said he told his scouts shortly after Tony Sparano was fired in December to start looking at 4-3 personnel" palmbeachpost

and FYI, having Assistant Head Coach in his job title makes becoming a DC a demotion. Unless he requests to leave to be a DC, I doubt he leaves. Take Bill Musgrave, he was the QB coach in Atlanta and was promoted to Assistant Head Coach before he went to the Vikings. Only reason he left for Minny was because he wanted the chance to call plays.

Philbin has a mutual agreement with the guys at Green Bay not to pillage their assistants

Pretty much. From what I understand the only way they may let an assistant leave is if it's a sizable promotion. As of now the only Packer they might allow to leave is Ben McAdoo if Sherman takes the Tampa Job. He might be our OC.

I think the DC will be Coyle, though that could change if Zimmer gets the Buccaneers job. Also, I wouldn't write off the Packers assistants because of that supposed mutual understanding. There definitely won't be any lateral moves, but I think one maybe two assistants from Green Bay could come to Miami. If Tampa Bay hires Mike Sherman, as most expect, then I think tight end coach McAdoo becomes the favorite for the OC job.

I don't care who the Defensive coordinator is As long as they're aggressive!!! When you pressure the Offense and Blitz, you create turnovers. When you create turnovers, you score more points and the other team score less. It's common sense that has been lacking in the Sparano Era. I think we should run more 4-3 fronts like the old days. We never had problems getting sacks until the 3-4 switch. Wake is better suited rushing the passer instead of covering anyway.

Can coyle be the db coach and defensive coordinater?may be a stupid question, but if he can there isn't a place for bowles anyway
