Assuming all 10 picks are used in their original spots w no trades

13) Jahdae Barron. CB Texas
Versatile ballhawk who Weaver could move around. Excelled in SEC play and not afraid to hit and great run support corner. was really the best player on the board and happened to fill a major need

48) Omar Norman-Lott. DT Tennessee
Top 30 visitor Alfred Collins went three picks earlier. Lott is more of a disrupter/pass rusher than Collins (or Grant) but will complement Seiler and can be an effective 3 down DT

98) Charles Grant OL William & Mary
A swing tackle/guard who has the strength and athleticism to start early in his career. Excelled against lower competition but the bet here is that he can make a quick adjustment

116) Quincy Riley CB Louisville
Another active corner who isn't a versatile as Barron but should hold up outside. with the cornerback room full of Kohou and some unproven UDFAs the Dolphins get a more polished corner who gives them a chance for a more solid secondary

136) Joshua Farmer DT Florida State
A better run stuffer than Lott, Ascending player who had a great Senior Bowl week

150) Marcus MBow OL Purdue
A tackle in college, his frame and length make him better suited for guard. can play tackle in a pinch. Scouts love his competitiveness and toughness. Makes the open guard spot more competitive

155) Jackson Slater G Sacramento State
Maybe a bit of overkill but the Alt Grier actually puts his money where his mouth is. Best player on my board anyway. we now have 3 athletic, versatile OL who can unseat some of the garbage at the back end of this OL group.

223) Damien Martinez the U
A hammer who is a better short yardage runner than what we have. Underrated power runner who can block and do the dirty work that previous Miami backs didn't/couldnt do

231) Hunter Wohler S Wisconsin
Needed a safety in this group and have a good one from Ole Miss on the phone now to sign when draft is over but Wohler is a steady dependable safety who fills a need

253) Fahil Diggs DE Syracuse
Looking for traits and this guy can rush the passer

Didn't like any QBs after Kyle McCord went off the board in the fifth, wanted to double or triple up at OL, DT and CB

This is well done imo from 98 on. Don’t love the picks at 13 and 48. The dt options got thin real quick in terms of starters come day 2.

I think Miami read that part of the draft correctly. That doesn’t mean we should have plucked the 2nd dt to come off but still…

Good point on DT'S flying off the board. Williams, who Detroit drafted in the 1st, was a player I thought had a shot to reach 48. I sometimes took him there on mock draft sites.

Yeah I saw that as an overdraft by Detroit. But they have the team overall where they can afford to do it. Unlike other teams.

Yeah, I like the latter part. Not wild about the first few (compared to what we did).

I'm a big Barron fan, would rather have had him than Grant. Kinda feel we draft the same DT three times although Grant is the NT with the most ability and upside.

This draft gives us at least a little bit of everything in terms of what we really needed (CB, DT and OL). Maybe too much OL but our real draft didn't give us anything in the way of cover guys. I'll be surprised if Marshall ever plays much and if he does we're in real trouble.

I also liked Barron and had him in the same range as Grant. I thought of both as slight trade down options, but doesn't sound like that was realistic with Grant.

My home run picks at 13 for Miami were Pearce and Warren.

I do love that Grier added physicality on both sides. This could be a very good draft. Love the addition of Gordon late.

Be interesting to see if Barron plays the boundary or the nickel in Denver.

I’d have gone grey Zabel at 13 he has elite movement skills and short area redirect.

I’d have to look at the board at 48 to see what I’d have done there. Probably would have targeted some of those other dts with my 3 and 4 round picks for rotation use. Yeah it wouldn’t be starters but it would be a heavy rotation per say. Plus I think those kids are more ready to play a good number of snaps than the kids we got in rounds 5-7.

That`s roughly how I expected the first 3 picks to go, but mostly out of self-doubt. I feared that I rated Grant too highly and perhaps Barron too low, but it seems like that wound up being the common view, judging by where they went. I also would have had Collins over Normal-Lott, but I think the former had some medical stuff come up the week of the draft. In all, I`m good with what they did, and especially with the fact that they didn`t panic to fill all of their holes immediately. The trenches got tougher, but I hope they address CB soon.

Think I prefer the Fins' actual draft. Really felt like a dominant D line was more a missing ingredient than a quality secondary (we have had them and what has it done for us?) or speculative OL depth (unlikely we would have kept that many draftees so at least one pick was probably wasted--not that I would mind taking that chance if we didn't have other more pressing needs).

Also kind of like Ewers as a third string developmental QB.

And now the doldrums until camp or action in the post June 1 trade/FA cycle...

I really wanted Grant, and Slater was interesting as well. I would have gone Grant @ 13 and Ersery @ 48 then Grant @ 98

This is a significantly worse draft than what they did.

Took a slot corner with 13 overall which is a crime in itself, what makes it worse is how unimpactful corner is in todays nfl due to rule handicaps. It all starts up front, I’ll stick with the DT that impacts far more than any corner.

It gets even worse as you went all 3 technique DT’s which is entirely the opposite of what weaver appears to want. It’s pretty clear that weaver wants big athletic guys that can play 0-3. The guys we selected are all gigantic humans that will bring an immediate impact to the run game while taking on double teams to free up Sieler and the edges. Grant had far greater impact on Graham’s success than people realize.

The by far worst part of this draft is the oline. While you added some depth, there is no starter here. I love Charles Grant as a developmental tackle but that’s what he is a developmental tackle. He lacks the strength to play inside and would be a similar fit to Austin Jackson was inside, he’s a pure tackle guy. Same with Mbow, he’s small and lacks size to play inside. He’d be a perfect for center in our system but we have brewer. Don’t know anything about slater but since he was a 5th round pick in a very needy inside linemen nfl, I’m guessing he’s not a plug and play starter. Like the depth but nothing is solved here.

You made the secondary better but our oline and dline are still in shambles. You tried to fix everything but in turn really didn’t fix anything. Would much rather go with how our draft went by solidifying the trenches and working on the secondary next year.

Yeah I saw that as an overdraft by Detroit. But they have the team overall where they can afford to do it. Unlike other teams.
I do wonder if Ratledge, or Ersery at 48 and hanging onto pick 98 might have been a better option?

Saying that, I really do like the Savaiinaea pick. He also has experience at LT, so could conceivable play there if injuries occur.
