Am I the only one that wants to see what Beck and Henne can do?

I do not understand why we need to bring in Pennington. I think it is about time that this team tries to find a young quarterback to lead this team for the future. We are not going to make the playoffs even with Pennington. This would be the perfect year to let Beck have a chance and Henne to see what they can do. If we do that then atleast we know if we need to address the QB position in the draft next year with our first. Give Beck 6 games and if their is no sign of improvement then hand it over to Henne for the last 10. Then we know what we have. Pennington is not going to lead this team to the promise land and I for one am tired of losing or going 8-8 or even 10-6. GIve the kids a shot and the worst thing that happens is we suck again and have another good draft pick in which we can take a franchise QB.
 
We are trying to win first, if Pennington is brought in he will be competing with Beck for the starting job. McCown should be cut, after pre-season. Beck will have to prove that he can be the starter for this team, but if Pennington starts this will probably be Beck's last season in Miami. Nothing will be given to Beck. Henne will not see any action most of this season except whatever is written on the clipboard he will be holding.
 
I with you man, I want to see what they can do. i don't know why we are bringing Chad in if we are rebuilding. I have already accepted that we are not going to be good for a couple of years. let's just find our own guys instead of taking another team trasn.
 
I think bringing in Pennington and letting Beck try to beat him out would be alright. We threw Beck into the wolves last year and it didnt pan out so I think Penn. and Beck could have some good battles for the starting position and this in turn will help beck because we wont have to throw him in there at the end of the year if beck/mccown struggle. I think Henne can be the future and I dont wanna just dismiss beck, but if we can get Pennington and he plays well, this could be a good filler until Henne is ready in the next year or two.
 
First of all do you think Pennignton is going to go to a team that has 2 young propects and will be probably be replaced by one of them next year or even this year. If Pennington came to this board and saw all the posts of how he can teach our young qbs how to play the game at this level and then be replaced by one of them would really turn him off. Especailly all the Henne lovers here, the kid hasn't even taken a gametime snap in the NFL and everyone thinks he's the man and should already be starting. Beck has been banished to a failure before he's even got a chance. Beck started in five games where the team had already quit for the season and everyone is so fast to right him off. Man it would be bitter sweat for beck to light it up this year. Fans need to be patient and understand how long it takes to develope a qb at this level.

Any way if I were Pennington and was looking for a future in the NFL it would not be with the us. I think he is going to be Viking. They are a legit playoff team with a stout running game. Perfect for him fo the next few years. we the Dolphins are offering him a substute teaching job....
 
Chad would replace McCown, not Beck or Henne.

We need 3 qbs. We don't know about 2 of them, and we do know that the veteran hasnt been very good throughout his career, and has been awful in camp. Chad represents a major upgrade.

This was the best post I've read all morning. I don't understand why everyone has cast off Beck. All everyone hears is the blogs (from another fanatic) how Beck is not getting it, just by looking at the overthrown balls,but what the don't understand the coaches are looking for more than that, like did he make the right read or if he threw it in time.These coaches are pros they know what they are doing and it takes time...
 
If Henne or Beck were going to start, I would say don't sign Pennington. But the sad reality is that McCown is the likely starter, which is why I want Pennington.
 
I have been back and forth with this.

I think I'm at the point that my concern with Pennington is the fact he can not....regardless of what some of you people say....throw the ball to certian area's on the field.

I've watched the deep balls he's thrown and they seem to be all to the short side of the field and are thrown early. In these throws it appears that the defence has jumped up in the play and the speedy WR have blown past them.

Knowing this is it the worst situation in the world??? No, probably not. If our line can create some holes for our running backs it doesn't matter who's in there the tendency will be to crowd the box. One thing I noticed was he throws the intermidiate ball very accurately. Which isn't all bad considering if they load the box he can find and hit the right guy a large % of the time. Which is good.

Now, how much does this aid Beck or Henne? I'm not sure because of his limitations with his throwing arm the offence may appear different from how they would run it. Leaving them not seeing everything. How much do they learn dinking and dunking the ball down the field????

I admitt he is maybe a better choice than McCown but at what cost? We all have learned over the last day that there is in fact a market for this guy. 5 Teams to be exact. This could very well mean he'll come at a price that he is not worth for one year. Agian that's speculation but not far fetched.

Lastly, I wonder how bringing him here will aid our long term goals to success? If at all. I know he's won games, I know what his career has looked like but with out seeing what the Beck can do then what's the point of keeping him here?
 
im here with you, why waste a draft pick on them (both 2nd rounders) if none of them are gonna play. they both gotta start sometime
 
I Love Beck As Much As Anyone On This Board... But If We Bring In Chad And Beck CANNOT Beat Him Out, I'm Not Sure Beck Is The Guy. I Hope We Bring In Chad, Beck Wins The Job, And Proves To Everyone He Is A Great QB... I Hope...
 
Whats the point of seeing what Beck can do, he is gettin beat out by a rookie who is the trifectas man not beck, and its tough to even deserve a start when you cant beat the sack buzzer never mind the D.

Beck is a second round pick and we have to give him a shot. So if a second round pick doesn't pan out in his first year we should give up on them. That is some football pholisify.

Anywho....Im just saying that he was already behind the game when a new regime came in and drafted there own guy, it doesnt help when he is underperforming while the rookie is out shinning him.
 
We're casting Beck off because he SUCKS!!!!

Let Pennington replace McCown! He has alot more winning seasons than Clown boy does!

man i'm bout to catch some heat for this one!! :sidelol::beer1:
