Weeks ago many people were lamenting how good Linhan had been doing as a coach starting 4-1 now 5 weeks later he has lost 5 in a row and is struggling with SF. The mularkey firing crew has definately settle down a little, even though there is plenty of critics of his playcalling. The one thing that sticks out to me is that our run/pass percenatge is fairly close to what Linhan is doing in St Louis.

Another thing I noticed after research is that last year we ended the year 14th ranked overall in offense and so far this year we are 15th and 5 yards behind last year's average. Defense at least statically ranked has been amazing with us ranked like 4th overall and its pretty close to second, while last year we were ranked 18th.

Well i think the Mularkey critics have calmed down because were winning, not because he has gotten better. Linehan is still a better OC hands down. Our defenses success goes to Capers and Saban.

Don't worry. This season's playoff race is going to be unbelievably exciting. I can't wait to see what happens.

Not sure I agree Linhan is a better OC because you are judging him from the whole season and Mularkey still has 5 games to go.

Mularkey has actually gotten a little better. Less boneheaded trick plays, a little bit more emphasis on the running game, not forcing Joey to win it cause he cant.

He has definately gotten a little wiser. Honestly the two biggest problems anyone had with him early in the season was A) His refusal to run the ball despite a horribly struggling passing game and inept QB play and B) Those inane trick plays, culminating in the Ronnie 2pt pass failure against the Texans. Maybe the guy learned, maybe Saban reigned him in a bit, i dunno, but if he keeps going like now, I wont be angry to see him kept like I was thinking about it after the Texans game, his worst called.

I think Saban likes the trick plays. He is a chip off of Belichick's block and tonight NE ran a few trick plays like a double reverse that lost 2 yards, and a flea flicker. I don't remember the outcome of the flea flicker. Also, when Belichick had defensive players lining up at tight end in goalline offense, of course we had to try it with JT at tight end. Anything the master tries, the pupil must try also, right?! But hands down, I really liked the playcalling of Linehan. He knew how to get the ball downfield. I agree that Mularkey is doing better, and unfortunately it took us a while to find that comfort zone. It has not complemented Chambers very much, but he will have the entire offseason to figure out how to get Chris more involved. I really do like the way the guys have handled the lack of catches and production on offense. Chris and Randy have both handled the pressure very well.

10-6 here we come!!!!!!!!!

Linehan started off real quick, and after week 1 of last year we actually had the number 1 ranked offense in the NFL. I realize thats only one week, but it just goes to show you how fast he got it goin offensivly with Ferrotte and Ronnie as a rookie.
I will agree that Mularkey has gotten better though. I dont know if he didnt realize what his personel was or what but hes callin better plays for what we have. Took him a while to figure it out though, and it could have cost us the season.

We may have started off number 1 but we ended up 14th.

But we started off quick, and stayed consistent. Mularkey has not done that. Enough said.

Yeah, but had Joey been our starter from Week One, we would be ranked much higher offensively. DC couldn't get the offense going and spent most of the time on his back or running for his life.

I still want Mularkey fired. He, Culpepper, our offensive line and our defensive backs share the blame for our 1-6 start. The O line has improved, the D backs have changed and Culpepper's been benched. That leaves one more cause to eliminate, hopefully in the offseason.

I don't care if Mularkey suddenly turned into Tom Moore. I want him gone next season.
