The Fins were in max protect (7) blockers. The Jets rushed only 4. That's 3 players in the pattern and 7 in coverage and the play still works. Wow. Basically Ginn was triple covered and beat the coverage with pure speed.

The amazing part IMO was watching henne progress through the reads, IIRC he did a checkdown small fake and then WAITED for Ginn to blow by the coverage and threw 45+ yards down the field for the td. That is EVERYTHING you want to happen on a play. o-line blocked magnificently (I bet you henne had 5-7 seconds to throw that ball), Henne made his reads and had the pocket awareness to WAIT until the play developed and then threw a pretty over the should catch to gin IN STRIDE and of course, TG caught the ball.

That is how you draw a play up and execution at its finest.

this is why ginn need henne.. pennington was awesome.. but he couldn't take advantage of ginn's speed.. because of his arm.. henne can.. and now this helps out more ways then one.. now defenses will be thinking about ginn and the long ball as well.. witch will help out our running game.. thats if ginn can keep getting open on those long passes..

He has been getting open all year on deep patterns, hell he was open 2 or 3 other times last night. Fact is I think Henne's arm strength has backed off defenses allowing more time for the QB to find Ginn and he can hit Ginn in stride. Henne to Ginn is going to be special for years.

I'm still a Ted Ginn skeptic but last night he played awesome. I'll reserve judgment until the season's over. Keep using that speed to turn DBs into toast and I'll be your number 1 fan.
