Do you really see Chan Gailey as a Super Bowl Winning Coach in Miami?

Consider the recent coaches that have won the SB: Cowher; Belichick; Billick; Vermeil; Shanahan; Holmgren ... These men were either highly innovative (Belichick; Shanahan; Holmgren); or tough and exceptionally good leaders (Cowher, Vermeil); or a combination of both.

I just don't see Chan Gailey in that mode. I may be wrong, but I thought his offense was unimaginative here. I also thought he was decent but not great at GT. His QB play there was very inconsistent.

At Dallas he just did not show real leadership.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see Gailey taking the Dolphins to the SB.

with the defense we have yes I do. doesn't matter who the coach is, if you have the defense we have it doesn't take much offense to win and with Ricky coming back and a renewed commitment to the run I think we are already a contender

We need Mora to get this team hyped up. Also, he is used to working with a scrambler so maybe he can help Culpepper.

If he brings Calvin Johnson with him then maybe... lol... I hope whoever we pick has enough insight to fire Mularkey.

Your over looking the fact we have had a top 5 defense the last 5 years and have not made the playoffs let alone had any kind of chance to win a super bowl.

Not a big fan of Gailey either and Johnson will not be there at #9. That being said "baby steps" I would just take a coach who can get us in the playoffs and worry about the Super Bowl later...

Yes, if he's good enough for THe Chin to recommend him as HIS replacement, he's good enough for me. Cowher has more football knowledge in his little toe than all of us on this board together, and he had Chan as his OC. I could definitely see Chan taking us to the SB, he was extremely innovative as OC when he turned Kordell Stewart into a heckuva QB. We went 11-5 both years he was OC for us and had only fiedler to work with, no real talent at RB like we have with Ronnie and Ricky. Just pray he has the gonads to fire Boolarky first day as HC. Promote Jason Garrett to OC, keep Capers as DC, let Mueller do the personnel thing, and we could be headed for a SB.

EXCELLENT POINT

Cowher is a very good coach, but he's not a "coaching genius" and of course he's going to recommend Gailey. But, Gailey is not going to do any more for this team than he did 5 years ago - and we had a very good defense then as well.

The problem with Chan is he does not have true "General-ship" type of leadership necessary to be a great head coach. There's nothing unique that sticks out with him.

He's not an innovator; he's not a motivator; he's not an intimidator. Three strikes, you're out!

He's good enough to get us into the playoffs and bad enough that we'll never get past the first round.
