I know this isn't all that exciting, but I think it's kind of cool.

I found out this morning that my school's offensive line coach played for Nick Saban at Michigan. I only had a few minutes to talk but apparently, he is well liked among his Alumni. Coach said that Nick is a bit of a jerk, but ultimately, he brings your game to a whole different level by demandig perserverance and excellence.

hmm, interesting...ill let you know that all good football coaches have a bit of a jerk sode to them, its what makes them tough and good, they dont give a darn for certain things and there percise on it, but thats what makes them winners......

I could see how Saban might seem like a total jerk if your a player.......but how you would ultamitely respect him for how he does things.

A football coach has to seem like a jerk at times, I mean would you want your Football coach to be a nice , non intimidating guy? I wouldn't..

Wannstedt just screamed his name somewhere in Pitt.

still waiting for the interesting part, thread subject is quite misleading.

Actually, my tenth grade biology teacher knew him when they both attended Kent State. My teacher ended up transferring to the University of Ohio and played safety, had he finished at Kent State he would have had Nick Saban as his position coach (DB's).
I thought about posting this a while back but it seemed irrelevant. But since you brought it up....

what is the point of you're post? If it doesn't interest you, why do you bother posting about it?

exactly. if they aren't jerks' they woudln't be good. ppl wouldn't respeect them. my basketball coach was one of the best in the league we played in and he was a great friend/person off the court but during practice, games, anythign with bball he would be a tough, disciplinary, no joking allowed person that came off as a jerk to those that dind't know him well or nevre played for him but that ended up bringing us 8 championships.

Did you ever coach football? Because you're acting like a .... well see the original post again.

I think Jerk is the wrong word to use. How bout tough? or as Zach would say......INTENSE!

Ever hear Shula's players talk about him? I'll take Saban anyday of the week, Twice on Sundays.
