Well it turns out that we had the wildcat formation in our playbook and was practicing it from the start of camp. I'm sure everyone know that by now but here's where brown's thumb comes in.

Sparano and CO. wanted to implement the play during the cardinals game but couldn't because of brown's injury. The timing worked out perfectly in time for the Pats game.

That's pretty cool. I mean I would have much rather won against the Pats then the cardinals so in a way brown's (thumb) gave us a big big W against the Pats rather then the cards.

I'm glad we didn't us that package against the Cards. They we just to good offensively and it would have blown it's effectiveness for the Pats game.

Well if that's true, it is indeed fortuitous, because it wouldn't have made a difference against the Cardinals, and I think their attacking defense might have even snuffed the Wildcat out. Then the Pats would have seen it, seen how to defend it, prepared for it, and we may have lost this game. MAY have. Our D played on fire and snuffed theirs out, easily...and Chad Pennington was putting us on the doorstep of the end zone before we ever ran a single Wildcat.

Great Point CK, poor CP hasnt received enough recognition for his Play on Sunday. I think he was one of the major factors in our win.

Exactly. If it hold truth, it was perfect timing. It wouldnp;t have mattered against the Cards.

I completely agree with both you an CK. Our team did great regardless of the wildcat play I mean even if we did take the play out the score would have been 13-10 pats but we could have used other plays to score.

It sucks how the media credits the fins win to JUST that play. We played get football defense and offense.

My point is that it is great to run up the score on the Pats. I mean our net points is -2. which is not bad. and the Pats net points is -9. That's a nice stat. I wanted to score again on the pats on our last possession. Give them a test of their own medicine.

But if you think about it, it didnt really matter against the Pats either. We killed them, and in most of the TD drives, all Brown did was cap them off

We dominated them, but without the Wildcat they might have stayed in the game long enough to get lucky on a big play to Moss, or something like that.

I really enjoy when he capped one off with a 65 yard run.

Don't underestimate "capping off" the drives. This has been an issue with our team for several years now...we settle for FGs too often. Putting those TDs on the board; instead of FGs made a big difference in how the game progressed.

The Wildcat formation was not that big of a surprise to the Pats as many think.
Wildcat isn't new; it's similar to the single wing, which dates back a century. The Arkansas Razorbacks used it often the past two seasons with Darren McFadden.

And it wasn't new to New England — coach Bill Belichick said his team practiced against it just last week. But the formation left the Patriots clearly confused, and Miami's element of surprise helps explain the shocking result.
