An old quote is Beck staying?

"Dolphins HC Tony Sporano vehemently denied rumors that the team is trying to trade RB Ronnie Brown. "No chance that we're trading Ronnie," Sparano said early this afternoon. "I understand another rumor is flying out there. Last week, it was (quarterback John) Beck. This week it's Ronnie. There was no discussion of that internally or externally. None"

This came out August 19. He really seems serious about Beck and he isn't a liar. Do you think he wants to give the kid a shot still maybe? I mean obviously they brought Henne to get a shot too but if Beck progresses well do you think he could be our starter over Henne?

I don't like Beck personally but I would think it hilarious if the guy we all ragged on ended up our starter and played well.
 
this is irrelevant because it is old.. but no.. no shot for beck.. i think they like him as henne's back up in the future tho.. cuz he will be a vet who knows the playbook. thats it...
 
why dont you like beck? I think he can progress into a good QB. DONT judge him on how he played last year. It was a losing situation we put him in.

You should know when it comes to talking to the media Sparano is a liar.Just so you know Dallas is one of the teams that wanted Beck, they only offered a late round pick so we got rid of one of are other QB's at the time because another team offered us more for him.

i like beck, i know if he started somewhere with a good oline and decent WR's he'd have a productive season...
i'd still prefer henne... henne out played him in the offseason, and beck had the one year advantage on him...
beck is not the future for this team... i'd really like to keep him around... especially as a backup for once henne is playing...
realistically, Henne is our future, but probably wont see the field next season, and maybe not even 2010, and after that does pennington become our back up? i dunno, i know parcells drafted him and pennington WILL be a coach in the league.. maybe he can be backup QB and QB coach along with david lee for Henne..

but beck will probably get offered a better deal and a shot at starting for another team when his contract expires.. if hedoesn't mind being behind henne and pennington, then we'd have 3 good Qb's...
Jon Beck season last year was a joke, he is not that bad, he was just on a terrible team and got thrown into the fire with no way out.. poor guy.. i hope he does well, aand i got all the confidence in the world he will succeed under center, some day. and probably not in a dolphin uniform, maybe for the bears... :)

no. everyone on here knows i support beck. It seems like I am the only one on here. Dont get me wrong I like all the other QBs too. Its just i think we havent see beck where he was in a position to succeed yet and everyone is making such HARSH judgments about him

I personally wouldlike to see penninton used in a Don Strock type role onthis team. Keephimon our roster for whoever our QB is and give our young guy a good role model and keep Penington around on our roster and give him another opprotunity for a ring. Its a win/win situation for both the Dolphins and Pennington.
