Two words: Rick Speilman, the worst thing to ever happen to Miami...worse than Wannedstat

This just confirms what the Speilman haters have been saying all along and even the RS supporters have to realize that this was a truly bad decision by Rick. Makes you appreciate the people we have making these decisions these days.. ;)

It's obvious that Spielman wanted to do the trade but had to get approval, probably from Wannstedt. This failed trade ain't Spielman's fault.

No way. Wanny was in charge. The Feeley & Gordon trades are on Rick, but everything else was Wanny. Including not drafing Boldin.

Yeah I see that as more of a wanny issue. Wanny hesitated and always though fiedler was the answer. Rick was too impatient. Sometimes it works but for him it usually meant overpaying. He jumped the gun on the feeley and gordon trades. Two that should have never happened.

yeah, why couldnt they jump the gun on this issue? Anyways, both really brought the team into the gutter and lets be glad competancy is back and the best is yet to come.

Spielman was far better than Wanny...

cause it was too good of a deal for both teams. GB got two number 1 picks. We moved up in the third and got a competent QB that was 2 years from his prime.

Sadly I think if he had come to miami in that trade he would have been run out of town and or placed behind fiedler in the depth chart and not amounted to anything.

Hasselbeck should be wearing a Dolphins Uniform right now!

I would have rather not done that trade. kept the first round pick and drafted Drew Brees.

I'd take Hasselbeck for the 26th overall pick.

Spielman had the deal done but needed Wannys approval. By the time he got to him Seattle snuck in. I agree with the other poster. I think if Dan Marino circa 1985 would have came here he would have sat behind Fiedler. Wanny had some kind of sick infatuation with his little journeyman Ivy league bum. His blind faith cost us big time.

I don't understand why this very old story is of interest. Who cares what Special ed Speilman did, no crying over spilt milk.
