It's been mentioned that we are interested in CB Andre Goodman from the Lions who is an UFA. this is an interesting article on him and he sounds like he would be adecent pickup http://www.detroitlions.com/document_display.cfm?document_id=437407

Andre is a good cb, i have wached him in college and in pros, and have a talked with him quite a few times before he went pro (when he was @ Univ of SC). I love the guy, great person, awesome athlete, but... he had a serious knee injury in college and has injured his shoulder... I would still like us to get him, i just hope all his injury problems are behind him.

Could probably be had for reasonable amount. Nick used to be a CB coach so he could bring out the best in him. Seems very coachable, would be a great pickup for us. We could then take bpa in first and 2nd and maybe pick up one more CB in the 2nd day. It could work.

To me, he sounds just like the type of player I expected Saban and Mueller to go after- a player with more upside and ability than what he has shown so far. The type of player whose best football is still probably in front of him.

Actually, it looks like Moss is getting into "position" with him.

So we got him. He's obviously talented, could be a steal.
If we draft a corner or safety on the first day, our secondary should be set for next season

and a tackler in run support. Means they will blitz him from time to time and move him around a little, like come off his guy and blitz or come in like a torpedo and run stuff.

Everyone needs to get it through there heads right now. CB's in Sabans system arent going to be considered ALL PRO or big names. They play a part in a system that requires tackling and just covering your guy and peeling off to blitz. Madison wasnt a fit in this system. You cant compare a guy to what Madison is or was. It is a different scheme and that is why Madison is gone.

Goodman was a great pickup... IMHO he will be 3x better than Howard, Jackson, and Thomas... I wouldent be surprised to see Thomas or Jackson cut now...

Goodman is here to replace Howard, not be a starter. As of right now, I see Poole and Daniels starting unless we draft a CB in round 1. I like that Mitchell kid also. He was hurt all of last year. So right now the Fins have Daniels, Poole, Goodman, Mitchell, Thomas and Jackson at cornerback. They will probably draft one early, so I don't see Thomas and Jackson coming back. They usually keep 5 or 6 cornerbacks at the most.
