Any word on this guy in OTA's? Seemed to me like a good pick up in the 6th, and could play a role on the O-line as injuries mount.

I'm not sure on how he's doing at OTA's.

I've been more concerned about his health. Here's a guy that would have been a lot higher draft pick and seemed in college to be solid and never hurt. Goes down with a season ending injury....which needed surgery.

I thought this guy in 07 would be a very high OL pick for someone. Probably in the first 3 rounds. Specially considering the year that Choice had running the ball.

Then we draft him in the 6th???? This could be a steal or he may never be ready to play. If his arm is good to go he is a football player.

Yes it would be nice to have a little depth at the tackle position. I am currently concerned about guard more but with as many bodies as they have in camp you have to think that they have someone in mind.

Well this guy started over 45 games as a left tackle. I'd say he's a very good football player. Now, someone may know more than me but I'd have to say that he maybe able to play that guard spot......if need be.

You see there are fundamentalist coaches that can probably give us 100 different reasons why he can't move to guard......but I have always said that if a guy can play he'll make the transition.

Ah, I guess I didn't read about the injury. Looking at his performance in college I just thought he'd make more of an impact for us. Oh well...

He still very well may. I'm not sure how bad shoulder injuries are on guys that size.

Most can come back pretty strong and ready to go......but others just keep popping. It's tough to know for sure.

He's a tough kid (from my alma mater), played through the injury last year. I think we got a steal and maybe Carey's eventual replacement.

Some can, some.......

Just read this about a DE guy that threw a tantrum when he learned he was going to play in a 3-4 and the NEXT year when he was informed that he was to be moved to OLB.....

"They went at it tooth and nail," Williams said. "But Parcells always told Greg, 'One, it's going to make your career go longer. And No. 2, separate and apart from that, you're going to be a better player.' "
It took awhile, but Ellis eventually realized Parcells -- who coached him for four seasons -- was right.
When Ellis made his first Pro Bowl in 2007, one of the first calls he made was to Parcells, who had left the Cowboys a year earlier.
"He wanted to let him know how he felt," Williams said. "That's why he called to say, 'Thank you, coach.' "

While watching the OTA highlights today, I noticed that his technique and footwork is very solid. Caught my eye, I had to check the roster to see who 63 was.

The fact that he attended yesterdays OTA and was onfield playing speaks volumes to his recovery.

I, for one, wrote him off as a possible steal that may begin to contribute in 2010.

I'm glad I was wrong. From what I am hearing it sounds like he will be ready for training camp, preseason, and the regular season:)
