He couldn't wear Jake and Dan's #13 but this guy would be a good pickup in the FA Market. Heard he's still on the market along with Ryan Lilja and that the Colts won't sign both. Both were 16 game starters last year. Definately an upgrade although I don't know if their big enough for Parcells.

I believe that Lilja agreed to a new deal with the Colts.

Lilja got a new contract as the above poster said, but I can guarantee that Parcells and Ireland would have basically no interest in either one. Indy uses these very undersized guards, and they do not our management's tastes on bit. Miami needs help at guard, but they'd never look here.

Billy likes the big boys. They do a real good job in INDY. THe local sports hacks can't believe he isn't re-signed.

I think Scott's a potential nice target for Miami. He's a young, experienced starter, and he's got the height/arm length that Parcells and Co. like from an OL.

He also completely lacks bulk. He plays at around 285 or 290. No way they'll go for him.

Jake Scott is listed at 6'5" 295

Kyle Kosier, the Cowboys LG is listed as 6'5" 305.

I don't believe Scott is 295 from watching him play. And sorry, but it's just very, very unlikely that we even show interest in him, let alone sign him. He's just not the kind of guy they like. Just don't think you should get your hopes up.

A condescending apology is unreasonable, especially given the relative strength of your point of view.

Jake Scott does not look any different from any other 6'4"+ 300 +/- pound OL.

Marco Rivera was 6'4" 309 and starting the year before.

Parcell's last Cowboys roster had 6'7" 304 Jason Fabini, and 6'6" 315 Pat McQuistan, not particularly heavy players.

I'm just saying what I've always noticed - that Scott and Lilja are look like very light offensive linemen. Some of those guy you can just tell they don't have the bulk the others do.

Look, if there is even the slightest shred of evidence at any point this offseason that Miami has interest in Scott, I'll admit I was wrong. But I don't think I will be.

I keep remembering Ireland's first press conference when he said they would bring in big players or something to that effect. IMO 6'5" 295 would not be considered large or big by the average size of offensive linemen in the NFL or even on the Dolphins. But of course there are exception to that rule sometimes if a player has potential to bulk up or plays exceptionally at that size.

Thanks Mr. Obvious. I believe that was the last sentence of the initial post. Anyway, the point is the colts gave up the fewest sacks in the league last year and had a 1,000 yard rusher. We gave up 54 sacks last year and gave up the health of all of our running backs.

I would like for us to try and sign the guy he played on one of the best OL in the league.
