Who will be the Defensive Coordinator now that it seems Mike Nolan walked out?

They need to kiss Mike Nolan's a$# to get him to come back. What the hell, why don't they offer him the head coaching job?

Nolan doesn't want to be a head coach. Keep Todd Boles in mind. He may be back.

Wow, where is all this coming from??

One unsubstantiated rumor that Nolan cleared out his desk???? Really???

It's the offseason and he is probably gone vacation somewhere. Maybe New Zealand? NZ is fabulous in the summer. Who wouldn't clear out their office at this time of year when there is uncertainty.

Nolan was on recored after the firing of Sparano saying how much he loved his job as coordinator.

There has been no resignation. There aren't even any rumors of him going to some different team.

There is a very good chance, very good indeed that he will be back. especially if the Dolphins sign somebody's assistant coach to be our HC.

Mike Nolan
Todd Bowles
Eric Mangini
George Edwards
Greg Manusky
Chuck Bresnahan
Larry Coyer

are all names that are available off the top of my head. Some 3-4 guys and 4-3 as well. Not worried here just yet.

I'd bet it will be Bowles. We really need continuity on D.

Now if the new HC has a guy in mind already, that could change.

Whoever the DC is should be a guy who sees that when you blitz the s#!t out of Tom Brady in the first half and sack him 3 times and nail him numerous other times, you shouldn't sit back and rush 3 or 4 while he picks apart your now-playing-way-off-the-line-of-scrimmage-D-backs-even-on-crucial-third-and-short plays. If I didn't know any better I'd have thought Nolan placed money on NE at HALFTIME of the last game against them.

Nolan isn't the problem. Brady makes every defense look bad.

Do not sleep on Bowles getting the Raiders job.

Mangini would not be a bad choice for DC. Smart guy that needs to build his resume' up some.

Brady makes everyone look bad when he has all day... which he usually does. When he gets rocked like he did in the first half with us sending 5-7 rushers, he looks like most other QB's and worse than the more mobile QB's in most cases.

Watch that game again and see how he sucked in the first half. Primarily because we blitzed the crap out of him and pressed up against their underwhelming wide-outs.

Actually this week there have been reports Nolan, along with one other, is the leading candidate to be the DC in Atlanta

Nolan could come back if they offer him more money. He already has done great things here and he is happy being a coordinator.
Other than the rumor of cleaning out his office (understandable considering that Fish was our target and his favorite DC is Greg Williams) because it looked like he was done here. Now that things have changed, there is great chance to bring him back.
Ross can make him happy with a nice new contract. If he doesn't want the job, Bowles has proven to be a worthy 2nd choice.
They need to contact both men ASAP.
