Browns poop-can their guy going into the bye week. Coach didn't want to, but was urged by the front office. This is a one win team with a week off, like us. That makes 3 teams (I think) so far that have gone this route. How long before we join 'em?

While the offense doesn't seem to be performing very well ....

The bottom line is EXECUTION ... IF the offense was EXECUTING let's say EVEN 80% of the plays well .... THEN you could clammer for Mularkey's dismissal ... but since it isn't executing ... it is hard to just say Mularkey stinks ...

Clearly some of his play calling has been suspect .... but our EXECUTION of the plays thus far has NOT been very good either !!

Some would argue that simply because we don't or can't execute they plays ... then that means the coordinator is terrible ... which does has SOME merit .... in the sense that you MUST adapt the offense to the folks you have on the field ... HOWEVER, sometimes the players you have on the field ... CAN'T function in the offense you MUST run in order to have any success.

It's the same dilemma as the QB situation .... some of it is the line, some of it is the QB, some of it is the RB and some is the WRs .... the HOPE is that at least some could OVERCOME the deficiencies and perform regardless ... BUT OUR GUYS ARE NOT DOING THAT TO DATE !!! THAT's when you know you have SPECIAL players ..... AND THAT is something we DON'T have presently !!!

Our situation is totally different than Clevelands and Mo Carthon. The Browns problems rested more on the shoulders of shotty playcalling, like when they called a FB pass on 3rd and 1 and were throwing the ball inside the 5 yard line vs Baltimore up 2 with 3 minutes left and got picked off. They felt like the playcalling was actually losing them games and the offensive players were starting to grumble which made Romeo have to get rid of him. With the fins we have greater problems which lead to our playcalling looking bad. Like when Daunte holds the ball for 10 seconds while only reading 2 routes, or that Oline is so bad we cant possibly run the ball inside the box which kills our playaction game. While Mularky does suck I dont think its is entirly his fault.
