The Niners release Ahmed (sp?) Plummer today. We defintly need help in the secondary and I think he would be a good option. Also the Raiders announced they will not tag Woodson for those of you who are interested in him.

There are a lot of veteren CB possibiltes and we defintly should take advantage of that. Clements was already tagged, he was my top choice. Next I look for Jerry Azuhma (sp?), R.W McQuarters, and Plummer. Another option I would like would be Virgina Tech's Jimmy Williams via draft. He probably wont be available, but would be a nice add.

What do you guys want us to do here?

Do you think the Dolphins can upgrade by taking the castoffs from the team with the worst record in the league over the last 2 seasons?

By all reports their current coach is a bit a defensive guru, so I can't see him shedding a decent DB.

Dont you think Plummer would be better then Reggie Howard? Or for that matter, any one else in our sorry secondary last season? Keep in mind this is the same secondary that allowed BROOKS FREAKIN BOLLINGER to pass for 300 yards on us.

The main reason why the 49ers have the worst record in football over the last 2 years is because they've had the worst talent. I think taking anybody the 49ers voluntarily cut will be a mistake.

There are going to be other salary cap casualties and free agents from teams with actual talent.

Replacing Reggie Howard is in my view our #1 priority this off season, but let's make sure we're replacing him with someone with talent, not someone who looked better than he really is because his teamates were awful.

i think the niners suckiness has more to do with their o more than their d..i like plummer alot..id sign him

Plummer is ok. In a Saban scheme he might not be that bad, he is slow for a CB but he is physical and can play well in a zone based defense.

Plus, I can't imagine too many teams jumping to get him because of his speed and this might drop his price tag.

I like Jerry Azumah, Charles Woodson, then Ahmad Plummer. In that order. Ty Law would be my first pick, but he is going to fetch (or at least demand) way too much money.

Plummer has also missed a good portion of the last two years.

he's good, but not as good as 2 of his college teammates (Antoine Winfield and Nate Clements).

IMO Plummer could end up being like another former teammate Shawn Springs, good but not great because of injuries with his first team, and pretty dominant with his 2nd team.

I dont think we need him. We need speed to help our secondary, He has lost a step and I don't think he would be much help. Id rather bring in some young DBs that can be impact players
