I never start threads...let alone Ricky threads. I know we need another one like a hole in the head.

That being said I thought I'd voice my opinion on this without it getting lost in the usual "screw him" or "he's God" crap...

Is Ricky doing it for the money?

Of course he's doing it for the money...I want to know one person on this board who WOULD'NT do it for the money (and if you say you would'nt you are a liar).

The guy has a chance to get an 8.6 million dollar debt off his back.

That being said...he also has to be commited...if he was ONLY doing it for the money he'd get himself killed. This is the NFL...not tiddly winks...you better WANT to be there.

I still don''t trust him, I still don't think having him back is a good idea, I still think he is a quitter and I still think he is basically Mike Tyson in football pads (only in it for the money). I'm starting to SLOWLY change my opinion. My feelings and opinions can change...if I stayed firm and unflexable on everything I'd be pretty close minded...that would get me no where. I'll be screaming my a$$ off when he turns the corner, straight arms Takeo Spikes in the mouth and runs for a 45 yard touchdown...

The one thing I have to remind myself...and ALL Bill/Jet/Patriot fans on this board...when he left he was a top 3 running back and TORE you guys up. It's not like he is 35 years old...he is still in the prime of his career.

I think if his head stays straight and he wants to...he's a top 10 MAYBE a top 5 runner...that makes me giddy and should make AFC East teams afraid.

Pothead quitter or not...the guy was damn good.

I'm going to go on record...and Nick Saban's presser today made me realize this...we ALL make mistakes. Anyone on this board who has'nt done something they regret is a liar or a born again liar.

I still don't trust him...but the difference between now and 2 months ago is I'm willing to try...he's a Miami Dolphin....I have to give him a chance.

Good post. I definitely agree with you. I have changed my mind and now welcome #34 back to my beloved fins. We will be better off with him than we were without him.

amen!thats well put my man

That was a good post. Everyone works because we need money. If I could stay home all day and get paid then I would but life is not like that. The fact is that if ricky does not perform well he will be cut and who is going to take a chance on him after he has quit and then sucked. :rofl3:

if he averages 4.7-5.1 a carry
90 yds a game
& gets 1000 in 12 games

u will be loving Mike Tyson in pads

Very good post, I totally agree with you!

Very, very well said. Except...

Mike Tyson in pads? Thta might be a little harsh. Yes, there is a resmblince when it comes to motive (money), but thats a harsh statment in the sports realm, because there is a lot that goes a long with that allagation. (He wouldnt BITE Takea Spikes ear off!!!)

But really, very well put. I appreciate when people on this site look a bit deeper and dont resort to blind judgment and fury.

And I have to say,(and I'll get torn apart for this,but...) I feel for the guy. He's young, and sorting out what he wants from life. Most celebrated athletes wanted to do what they do since birth, and where motivated by the fear that they WOULDNT make it. All they ever wanted was to be in the NFL. With Ricky, Im not so sure. He was born with a gift to be a great running back, but i dont think he's comfortable with that. And to be honest, Im almost impressed by his honesty. Maybe it doesnt fullfill him the way WE want it to, maybe he wants something else. (And it wasnt to just smoke pot)

Anyway, my point is, call him what you will....quiter, pot-head, selfish. But I personally have known A LOT of people in my life that could be described that same way at his age, and most of them worked through it and found happiness. They just didnt have to do it under the micoscope he's under. Say what you want about him, but a word that should be on that list is honest.

One more thing...

He has NEVER been able to step up to the podium and explain his actions the way he did today. We all know about his social-anxiety. He faced it head on today, and did well. That ment alot to me, as a fan, because THAT must have been damn hard for him. I respect him for taking that on the way he did.

 ........I'm proud of you Unified! You finally realized what the rest of Ricky supporters have been saying forever!;)

I think others are following in your footsteps as well. The finheaven site poll (i believe yesterday) had more people opposed to him coming back, today its changed big time in favor of Ricky. Cool man.....shall I take you off the list from the "just for the record" thread?

that goes for all on that list that are changing their view!!!
