i think that one of the major differences between Miami and SF, Philly and even possibly Denver is the leadership dynamic of the team. on all three of those teams the Quarterback was/is the undisputed leader. If TO comes in and says things like "Gus Frerotte isnt the best Quarterback for this team" i think that Nick Saban would come out and say "You know TO, i think you're right". I dont think anyone is going to doubt his critiques of our QB position.

we have a different dynamic, our main leaders are on defense. So TO is in no position to challenge them. it doesnt mean he's coming here, or even that he'll behave if he does, its just something to think about.

I can pretty much gairentee saban wouldnt come out and say "your right" and put down his own QB. If gus is startin next year, Saban believes he is somewhat legit.. and i dont think he would demoralize anyone.

But you may be right that He wont have to catch balls from anyone with leadership.... There are alot of leaders on the team and i don tthink gus has any commanding respect in that department

ya theres no way if tyhe newest member of the phins is callin the shots specially owens,,and Nick Saban gunna say ya TO your right....DONT THINK SO>.>

But the fact that TO may likely take a shot at crushing whoever we have as QB wouldn't be helpful anyway.

Then you obviously don't remember how strongly Saban defended Gus, thruout the season, but particularly in the first 7-8 games when Gus was really struggling...Saban would NEVER come out and say "You know TO, i think you're right" if TO made a remark about Gus...besides, IF Gus weren't the best QB on the roster, he would be sitting on the bench...that's not the way Saban has shown us how he operates...

But then again, TO has said he wants to play with Brett Favre, who is one of the best QBs of all time and arguably the best team leader at that position in history.

I don't think TO would be allowed to come in and bash Gus and have Saban agree with him and Saban change the QB because TO said so. No matter what the QB is supposed to be the leader, so wether it's Peyton Manning or like Ryan Leaf (worst example I could think of, lol) the team still has to be behind him, good ro bad. I do think that we have different leadership qualities and players compared to TO's other teams. I think with JT and Zach and Saban there is a BETTER shot and better leadership/guidance for TO than in SF or Philly, but I think saying TO would say Gus isn't good enough to be a leader and having Saban agree with him is ridiculous.

i dont thank that next season if gus is struggling the first 7-8 games he wouldnt even make it that far. im pretty sure saban realizes especially after what thomas is willing to do they need to win now for that guy and get him a superbowl

True, but in the same context if, like this season, Gus is the best QB on the roster...he'll be the man even if he's struggling. Sage only came in when Gus was hurt...No doubt that Saban realizes right now that Gus can't get us to the level we want to be at...

LOL...I'm sure Saban would say, "you're right" and bash whoever he decides to put in at QB. When the WORLD was bashing Frerotte, Saban never wavered and he stuck with him. I'm sure he'll oblige when TO says something.

ok, wow, i used that as an example in regards to the fact that no one thinks that Gus is the QB that is going to lead us to the super bowl and that if TO said that we'd be better with Brett Favre, he might actually be right. in other words he isnt calling out a pro bowl caliber QB that has the support of the team and the city. i dont honestly think Saban would bash his own QB, i was merely commenting on the dynamic of the situation.

sheesh you guys are like wolves. i know Saban said he wanted wolves not sheep, but i think he was talking about the players....
