The article was nothing but assumptions, emotional pandering and hyperbole. Author was most likely bullied throughout his youth.Just read your article taunting a generation of Americans who were taught not to stand up to bullies. Unfortunately that article and how that article was written makes it as guilty as the bullying act it was condemning.
The article is riding a popular media wave without all the facts. Currently there are no facts that Jon Martin made a attempt to inform or alarm anyone that he was bullied. The only facts we have actually heard is Jon Martin went along with the pranks and using the very same language as everyone else in the locker room because he wanted to be one of the guys. One day Jon Martin jumps up out of his seat slams his lunch tray down and goes home. Later implying he was bullied into the act. His mother a lawyer practices and enforces this type of law and makes very nice income doing so. The national media supported Mr. Martin based on his word and plus a couple of texts he received from Mr. Incognito. Mr. Martin has also texted Incognito a picture with the words that he would kill his family. In fact Martin and Incog traded over 1100 texts last year and appeared together many times in pictures. These are the facts that the article should be reporting not something that is twisted on a personal bias. That article is attacking many persons nationally not just one person who have no way of defending themselves in the media. That article pretends it knew what went on in a locker thousands of miles from where you live. That article attacks individuals for having the courage to stand up and tell the truth for they believe in. The article actually condemns the truth, supports being a coward and implies that the media would be happier if American are liars supporting the medias view.
Mr. Plaschke I stated in the beginning of my response how that article was a slap in the face to a generations of Americans, boys in this country who in the past were taught to stand up to bullies by never running from a fight as well as never starting one. These American men currently patrol our earth protecting you and I from the bullies of the world. Your articles undermines the principles of that teaching taking away the responsibility of what American men were taught to stand for. That begs the question when the next generation of American youth and take their turn to protect and defend the weak of this land what will they do? Go home to their Mommy because they lack the strength to stand up for themselves which is what your article is promoting? You can bet that the women, children and possibly yourself will then realize what a mistake it is that article is preaching.
Sincerely

He's a clown. All that you've said pretty much shows it too. That's a column, not an article. Hence the liberties. It's weird to see Plaschke attacked around here. He's based in Los Angeles and is hated on the USC boards, primarily due to this column, in which he declared that the city was a Bruin football town. Not exactly great timing. Pete Carroll was already at USC and the program took off the following season, while UCLA crumbled. Bob Toledo was fired at UCLA simultaneous to USC's resurgence:
http://articles.latimes.com/2001/oct/25/sports/sp-61436
"When it comes to college football, Los Angeles clearly belongs to the Bruins.
Not USC, not any more, not even close, and not only just this year.
This is a Bruin football town, and has been a Bruin football town, and will continue to be a Bruin football town as long as the Bruins continue running the consistent, directed program so lacking across town."
What is it you think Martin's video statement, pre recorded will be?The guy did go overboard in bashing the entire team. But he did make some valid points as well. The infomercial Incognito did with Jay Glazer was an absolute joke. Glazer is his old MMA and was doing him a solid and trying to pass it off as a sports journalism piece. They put a long sleeve dress shirt on Richie, to hide his tattoos, and put on a nice watch and combed his hair and ran away from everything that he is to try to make him look like a choir boy.
This current team makes me absolutely sick - from Ireland to Philbin, from Turner to Sherman and his SIL. And get rid of overpaid bums like Jerry, Clabo, Wallace, Hartline, Misi, Carroll, Thomas, etc.
