How many of you guys think so??? I'm sure we'll know soon enough but I think the kid can do it.....was really great to know he was in there with the starters....

we don't have anyone else to really play the position.

hopefully we can get toledo healthy

maybe we won't have to use a first rounder on an olineman.

as of right now, its Alabi's. I really think that perhaps instead of wasting a pick...we should keep Alabi at LT...and if he suffers...well there is always Vernon Carey and LJ Shelton who can take over...then NEXT YEAR, we draft an LT. with that in mind...we should draft a Center and Guard in this draft. so in case we have to plug Shelton in at LT (cuz of Alabi's poor playing)...we always have our rookie guard to take over..aka...Ben Grubbs, or Samson Satele. Rex Hadnot can even play Guard, if we draft a Center like Josh Beekman.

people said that Alabi did terribly against Schobel of Buffalo...then again, who plays really well against Schobel anyway??? Schobel is a fantastic DE whos hard to stop. But they also said Alabi played well against Freeney of Indianapolis. IMO...Freeney is better than Schobel. even Saban (i know i know, hes SABAN)...said that Alabi was gonna be a star.

even if healthy our line is thin, we need some first round talent on our line and not another late round project.

I think he will be unless we draft one in the first round.

LT on round one?? Who do you see as LT worth of a 1st round??
NO WAY!!!
RT is the more likely piece to fill in that round, even an excel defensive complement is a better option, all of that assuming we can't grab Brady Quinn.

Also we have remained pat at oline for too long and have not invested in improving our line. We lost two starters and no clear cut replacement is on on team, it would not be wise to leave our line up to a couple of huge question marks like Toledo and Alabi when there is talent at this postion in draft.

Alabi will be there for the mini camps. If he fails, then Shelton moves back to LT or we draft either Levi Brown at #9, or Joe Staley or another LT at #40.

Levi Brown would be worthy of the pick.

i dont like the idea of getting a LT in round 1....i think Alabi will be fine and we should draft a G or C in round 2....

I hope he is ready to step in this season. If not we should just call him Wade Smith II. Three years is plenty to apprentice at that position.

I completely disagree with that post. The dolphin's right side created the most running lanes last season with Carey and Shelton. It's not a good idea to touch the right side of the o-line. We need help at the left side (LT, LG).
We should not play around with the chemistry of this fragile o-line. Obviously, we need to replace Jeno James(gone) with either Toledo or Lewenski, and draft a LT. The rest of the line needs to remain untouched.

He will compete for the position during training camp with whomever we draft and have on our roster. If he wins, then he will be, if he doesn't then he won't. I don't think anything will be given to him...

Joe Thomas, Levi Brown, and Staley will all be drafted in the first round and are therefore worthy of a first round pick, full stop.
