Fasano is a good TE, and I think Clay could be a good "Specialty TE" IMO..

Fasano wouldn't be starting for any other team in the NFL. Slow, lumbering TE that really is only worthwhile as a number two inside the 20. Between the 20's he doesn't scare anyone. Just my opinion but he is just another Dallas castoff that benefitted from a piss poor offense a few years back and caught 7 td's.

Cool, then why post then? Then again I don't know how credible the analysis is when they cite a guy as having elite hands that has never caught more than 39 balls in a year...

Fasano had the 6th highest YPC of all TEs. Ahead of Gronkowski, Owen Daniels, Dustin Keller, Aaron Hernandez, Mercedez Lewis, Heath Miller, Brent Celek, Jimmy Graham, Zach Miller, Shiancoe, Moeaki, Kellen Winslow, Benjamin Watson, and the list goes on and on and on. Had more receptions of 20+ yards than Owen Daniels with only one more reception, same amount as Todd Heap and Lee Evans.

On 3rd and short or in the Redzone you love a guy like Fasano. With his ability to block and work in tight spaces, he's a perfect fit.

Unfortunately, in the last 2 season we've done a poor job of getting into those situations. Which is why he's looked so bad. I don't feel like we needed to make a huge upgrade at the TE position. A new OC is a step in the right direction.

Fasano's biggest problem is obviously his speed. I think he will have a much better year, especially if we can stretch the field with Gates. Not all TEs are physical freaks like Vernon Davis, but I've also never seen Fasano being lazy on the field or quitting on his team. Hes a hard worker, and I like having him on the team.

Fasano is very intelligent player with excellent durability.

Maybe he just needs to be targeted a little more, but with the addition of a guy like Reggie Bush that isn't likely to happen; but the level of underappreciation for Fasano is absurd.

Yes, the Dolphins should compliment him with a TE that is a more prolific receiver, but they did indeed draft Clay and sign Brackett;
however, saying he is overpaid and should be a number 2 or 3 is just wrong.

At about 2 mil, he is a huge bargain.

Dude I have thrown these numbers out in defense of Fasano time and time again but still the hoards clamor for new. Fasano is a great solid TE who could go to the pro bowl given the proper usage but the problem in Miami was the offensive system and the utilization of the players to create mismatch, nothing more, nothing less.

People fail to see how inept Henning's offense actually was.

A huge hit. A player with very reliable hands, 3rd best run blocker, and pass blocks more than all but 2 TEs and still gets above average receiving stats can't start?

Fasano would start for most teams. A lot of the TEs with more receiving yards either can't block or their team has no other receiving threat. Few TEs can both block and catch like Fasano.

While a blocking TE is good, I will take a vertical athletic one instead all day long, of which fasano is not.

I have already said he is good in the redzone. We, like most of our players, have used them inefficiently over the years. However, you can't make someone more athletic and stretch the field.

Elliot1 & NYPin24 ... I've seen Boss play a lot. I have a bud who's a big Giant's fan. I feel he just had an off year. I admit I could be wrong on this one, but I also think he's better than everyone else behind Fasano.
