Just speculation...but Phund mentioned their names....

Holly Jesus.....if we get either of them..we will have the best offensive team in basketball....PERIOD.....and it will be a walk to the finals...

Personally...I want Michael Finley on our team.....He is the best fit...I don't know if Walker can play third banana on this team.....

Holy Homer...

Pfund stated that those two would be signed in the next wave....not necessarily that the heat were interested in them. Although it would be a pleasant suprise if mighty mouse was signed to lead the point in Miami. They need someone else to play with Wade when Shaq is on the bench.

Uh yeah, because those Suns really suck. So do the Mavericks. Let's not get too carried away with the "best offensive team" thing. There's no single available player on the market that would make the Heat the best offensive team in basketball, let alone the washed-up Walker or the ridiculously inconsistent Stoudemire.

Finley would be a decent fit for the Heat, though I'm not sure what he'd give you that Eddie Jones doesn't currently (that's how far Fin's game has fallen). Allan Houston, if healthy (and that's a big IF) would be better still. The guy the Heat really needed was Antonio Daniels, and he went to DC.

Why not...check the stats from last year...and I am sorry but...SHAQ inside, Wade on the Perimeter and Walker or Stoudmire with a 10/10 PF (Haslem) and a 15 pt a game guy like E. Jones.....YES...they would be the best offensive team in basketball.

I don't know, Stoudamire gets busted for pot on a daily basis, and Walker seems to be a troublemaker. I kinda wanted Daniels or Donyell Marshall, but now I'm hoping we just bring back DJones and Dooling...we would have been in and maybe won the Finals had Shaq and Wade been healthy. We might as well spend the MLE on someone, but this team doesn't need much.

I never understood everyone classifying Walker has a 4. To me he has always been a 3 in a 4's body. He shoots way to much to be considered a threat inside by any of the real 4's. I wouldn't mind seeing the Heat get Walker just because he would help their offense tremendously. Walker is a solid rebounder and he puts the ball in the bucket (even if he has no real position on the court) so if the Heat are looking for another scoring punch Walker seems like their best bet. As far as Stoudamire, I'd chill on that if I am the Heat. You don't want any punk like Damon getting in Wade's ear behind Shaq's back. If I am the Heat, I would add a piece like Walker. I think he would be the final piece for a team that came as close to making the Finals as you can. With Shaq and Wade the Heat need just one more small piece to put them over the top, especially with Larry Brown out in Detroit!

You're right about Walker being a 3 in a 4's body.

But..Walker played the most 4 in his stint with the C's last year than he has his whole career. I didn't shoot as much as he did previously either.

Walker will be a tremendous pickup for the Heat. He was a nasty post roll hook shot that goes in every time and he'll be a great side-kick to Shaq. Walker has a lot of heart and is very vocal- he deserves a ring.

As long as Walker knows his roll and plays a strict 4 in the Heat system, he will be a good starter and he'll bring mad energy off the bench.

Haslem is our starting 4.

Finals contenders now wanting to pick up whinny undersized 4's who love to shot 3's... You are in much more need of a PG then a tweener 3/4 like Walker. Whoever said that Antonio Daniels would have been a great fit was right..

edit: phunwin

I can see Walker complaining that Shaq and Wade take too many shots...this guy was on Dallas and was unhappy that he wasnt getting more playingtime and shots....he wanted to get traded to the East so that he could make the allstar game again...this guy won't ever play on a title winning team.
Stoudamire would be a desperation move. His game has been going down steadily for years. He was at his best in his rookie year, thats just sad. Walker and Stoudamire are players the Knicks would sign, not a real contender.
Really, the Heat just need Shaq and Wade healthy for them to make the finals. If Wade hadnt been hurt they would have certainly beaten Detriot.
