we do have a lot of players that are leaving us this year which should free up a substantial amount of cap space and with two players like nate clements and cato june as free agents i was hoping we can land both of 'em even one would be really good. and if JT retires we'll need all the help we can get on defense and i'd rather have players that can preform now, i believe there both pretty young. That would leave us to be able to draft some other important needs. I know im dreaming and im gonna get smacked down to earth soon but i guess i got nothing else to live for now bc baseball season seams so far away.

Do we want two big name free agents though? There's still a lot of work to be done on the rest of the team - the QB situation needs to be resolved, the OL needs work, we need some help at CB, LB, DT, and our special teams and WR coaches absolutely need to look for other jobs. We can't afford to lock up our cap space with two guys when there's so much work elsewhere that needs to be done. You don't need superstars everywhere, you just need guys that play solidly and don't make mistakes.

Saban on Free Agency:

“I know you’re going to ask me about free agency. You’re going to ask me about our free agents and I’m going to tell you this, the process is to evaluate the guys on our team and then evaluate the free agents, which have already been evaluated by our personnel people, make a determination and comparison between our players and how we can improve ourselves in free agency with people that we have an opportunity to get. I’ve talked to you before about our salary cap situation being a little bit better than what it’s been in the past. That doesn’t mean the availability of free agents is going to be good at a certain position where we need someone. That’s what you have to evaluate. All that stuff is relative to the players you have and who you can get in free agency. We’re looking forward to getting into the personnel side of what we have to do to improve our team. It’s a time for the players to rest right now and recover from the season. They played a lot of ball man, a lot of ball and a lot of practice. Not having to practice today or going out on that field seems like something is missing in life, but those guys have been doing that since July 24th or whenever and that’s a lot of ball. They need time to rest and recover, but when March rolls around we’ll start working on the physical improvement side of it. We do want our players to make good choices and decisions about what they do, so that it doesn’t reflect poorly on them physically or on their personal character.”

I think that we're probably going to concentrate a good portion of our free space on resigning a few guys. I think Vonnie Holliday and Wes Welker (an RFA, but we've seen the run on them lately) will be two top priorities and then I think they'll ask some other vets to restructure (Chambers, probably Taylor and Thomas again as that always seems to happen, maybe Kevin Carter) so that we can go after depth. Saban seemed to be very committed to adding depth and I don't see him breaking the bank on any one guy.

That being said, if Saban goes, I have no clue. I'd love to see Adalius Thomas or Lance Briggs in Miami, I think either of them opposite Channing Crowder with Zach in the middle would make for a nasty front seven. I'd also love to see Nate Clements if only for the fact we wouldn't have to face him twice a year in Buffalo. I doubt any of those guys come though unless we can give them at least comparable money and we look like a team with direction. Unfortunately last year was the year we were the hot team, now we're a team in turmoil.

so what hes saying is relatively speaking he'll evaluate all relative players to their relative positions in a relative manner aaright and all our relatively tired players will evaluate their relative recovery time aariight to see how long it will take to recuperate to their relative forms aariight so we can evaluate their relative evaluations in march aariight. from those relative evaluations we'll be able to evaluate why all the relative fans boo us at home games, aariight.

Unless Saban leaves and a new guy just restructures the entire defense, Cato June is too small to play in our system.

Aldius Thomas is someone they may look strongly at.

if you buy a couple of expensive fa, we will have a whole bunch of street bums around them.

Clements would be great, but Cato June is not a player we need at all. Doesnt fit our system and isnt strong at the point of attack against the run.
