Mods, sorry if this is the wrong area.....please feel free to move. I was curious if there are any Phin fans that live in Ireland on this board?

Thought you where talking about something else that would of been bad .

LMAO......Ya, I am not talking about Fist Pump and his side kick! I am talking about the land of Guinness! =)

Yep I read it. Just thinking about the ones that just read the title.

I live on the Island of Ireland....but am I an irish phin fan? lol fh doesn't have enough bandwidth for that response

So I am going there for 2 weeks in July. My understanding is the currency is Euros in the South and Sterling in the North. However I also read that in a lot of European countries the Euro is only being accepted at the big tourist spots. What is a good mix of currency to bring? We are basically going to loop the entire island. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also if you guys want to meet up for a pint, that would be cool! Mods, thanks for not moving!

I got you haha! I was stationed in the UK in the early 90's at RAF Upper Heyford, near Oxford. I am hoping Ireland has the drink "Snake bite".......man I loved those things! Canada is the only other place where I have seen them served. Stout, cider, and a little black current if I remember correctly!

I'm Irish but not living there now.

Euro is accepted absolutely everywhere in Euro zone countries. In Ireland, Euro is the only official currency in the south and is widely accepted in the north.

Belgium, Austria, France, Finland, Lux, Italy, Netherlands, Greece, Portugal, Germany and Spain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia plus Cyprus and I think Malta all have Euro as official currency.

I'm Irish and living back here now. I live in the Midlands and work in Dublin.

I would like to meet up for a drink, if possible, -67 Stang - I'll try to travel to intercept you if necessary, because:
A I've enjoyed reading your posts over the years.
B I spend an awful lot of time keeping up with Dolphins news on this site & elsewhere -it would be great to shoot the breeze in real-life.
C I actually think we're going places with Gase.

I don't think Snake Bites are so popular in Ireland but we have all the makings - especially Guinness or Murphys Stout for mixing. I've heard of Black Velvet (Stout with sparkling wine) or Guinness & Blackcurrant. Irish Coffees as well. Irish Whiskey. The Guinness is better in Ireland - the pubs know how to take care of it and serve it.

The Euro is the currency in the Republic. Pounds Sterling for the North. Your loop should include some of the Wild Atlantic Way and you're guaranteed a good time in Ireland - people (all over the island - North and South) are friendly and genuinely interested in talking to you.

PM me to plan a meet-up and, if I'm around at the time you're passing through, we can make it happen.

No, your not and relatively little band width was needed.

I Left a long time ago but all my family are still there.
