Alabi was Houck's personal choice for the O-Line in the draft. I know he was a late rounder, but does anyone know how he is coming along? I haven't heard anything about him since mini camp.

I haven't heard anything. Though at this point you can't expect too much from a late round offensive lineman. If he is ever going to start in the NFL, it will probably take him at least three season.

I think he's been inactive each game. At this point I think he's just a work in progress case with potential to break the starting line up next year or two.

Yeah, I knew he was a work in progress. i was just wondering if anyone heard any "good" things about him lately.

I think the coaches are looking more towards next season with him.

Once Alabi bulks up a bit, he has all the tools to be a real nice LT. Real long wingspan with good feet and good overall athletic ability. Really just needs to pack on 15-20 pounds of muscle. I definetly see him starting in the future, probably 2-3 years.

Alabi is Wade Smith without the poor planning which required he start almost immediately. Like Smith, Alabi needs to bulk up and work towards being a player in the NFL. Unlike Smith he's afforded the time to do that. I like Wade Smith and thought he'd be a player for us this year. Good news is after a year off, hopefully still getting coached up by Hudson, he should compete for the starting center job in 07. Maybe Alabi is ready next year too.
