Did a quick search and didnt see this mentioned.

On the long to the right by Ricky, it looked like we had Jake Long at RT and Vernon Carey at RG. I didnt catch it during the game but I saw it during the replays. This was the dolphins basically saying "okay patsies, we are going to run to the right, try to f'n stop us."

It was a really sweet run, here is the link to watch the highlight: http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80afce90&icampaign=cp_1

The run is about 43 seconds in, but I suggest watching the whole thing :)

I had read (or maybe heard on TV?) that they "weighted" the line, but I can't find the link. Maybe that is what they meant?

Edit: "unbalanced"... thanks!

Sprano mentioned this in his post game comments, he tested out an unbalanced line on one play and it worked so he came back to it a few times.

haha sweet!! let 'em know we are coming and run it down their throats. I love that mentalitly. Could also set up some nice counter plays to the other side!

That's high school football right there!

I'll bet the pats didn't even notice! That's yet another scheme that may or may not work agian!

Long mentioned it as well when they interviewed him after the game.

Long and Carey on the same side, sick sick sick . . . 2 of the best run blocking tackles in the league right there.

during the last 15 seconds of the video, I really noticed how BIG Jake Long is when he was walking back to the huddle. Brother is just SIZES above Ricky. I also saw what was reflected by the announcers....Vernon Carey did a fine job Sunday as did the rest of the linemen.

I did notice Jake on the Right Side after a play and was wondering how he or why he was over there after the play.......Thanks for the info.....Know that makes sense.....I love the game plan by the coaching staff....The Pats were not ready and didn't have an answer.....Bellicheat was speaking the truth when he said he got out coached.

This was overshadowed by the Wildcat but it is a VERY effective technique, especially with a quick snap... It is actually something that defences NEED to react to as that much beef on one side will cause problems if you dont get some weight in front of it...

When you get defences to begin looking at numbers and where they line up you are really getting in their heads... PHENOMENAL job by the coaching staff.

Marino613 linked to an article in the NY Times featuring a vid with David Lee explaining the Wildcat package. In the video, the second part of this package (called "power") utilizes two offensive tackles on the same side... in the video and as the Dolphins employed it, it took place on the right hand side.

Props to Marino613 for finding it.
