I can't wait till the first preseason game when we see Cam call his own plays on the sidelines. Never in Dolphin history has a head coach called offensive plays entirely. I always liked the fact that Shanahan, Reid, Holmgren and Payton call their own plays on the sideline. I love it. Let's Go Phins!!!

I'm indifferent about having the HC call plays. I'm ecstatic about Mularkey being stripped of those duties though.

I like it as it makes the HC accountable.....he can't use the "I think we got out-coached excuse." It has worked very well for Shanny in Denver......I like that we finally have a head coach who is an offense first guy...we've never had this before.....Shula, JJ, Wanny, Bates, Saban were all defensive coaches,

I'm more fired up that we have a head coach who can concentrate on what he knows well and has been successful in. We kept a great DC to run that side. We kept a good GM and gave him the responsibilities he should have. Now the HC can do what he is great at - building a great O and making game time decisions to score points.

I'm pretty happy about this...Cam has already proven he knows how to call a game on offense, and this takes the duties out of Mularky's hands (though IMO we should still fire him and promote Garrett to OC).

Yea I can't wait to see Cam on the sideline with the headset on, covering his mouth with the playsheet. That seems to be working out for people these days: Payton, Reid, Holmgren.

Reid doesn't call the plays anymore I don't think.

Cam Cameron calling plays

Jeff Darlington, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron will also serve as the team's offensive play-caller. Although Cameron is expected to hire an offensive coordinator, that person likely will have limited control over game-day situations.

sorry if this is a repost just though id post it

As long as he calls them like he did in the first half of last weeks game and not the second half...

Just curious but whats the point of having an OC w/out playcalling abilities? I doubt Cam gives a damn about his opinion(out of the correct opinion that his offensive mind trumps Mularkey)

interesting...so basically we are doing a 2 coach system...he does the offense capers does the D?

I think it's a good idea for Cam to call plays the first year, but I'd hope that whoever the OC is would take it over after that. His responsibility as a coach is to teach his assistants and let them take on more duties as they're ready for them so he isn't burnt out by the end of year 2.

Looks like Mike Mularkey will be given the boot and hopefully he will promote Jason Garrett to offensive coordinator.
