Having a team play 4 days after another game is a recipe for trouble. I don't like to see players get hurt.
Should the NFL get rid of Thursday night football?
I've been saying this every year. You can't preach player safety and then force players to play games in short weeks. Plus, the games are usually lopsided. The NFL only cares about money though.
Yes. I believe football is the toughest and most physical sport, where players need more than 4 days to rest, recuperate and practice. There is just too much injury risk.
It's always been a bad idea. Nice to have the rest on the other side of it but the short week leading up just stinks. Bad things happen too. Here's one thing that I can't even imagine happened tonight that didn't a year ago:
As bad as Tua's injury looked and potentially is for him, he's still going to fly back with the team to Florida. Do you realize that puts him one up on Urban Meyer who failed to do this a year ago on his Thursday night week 4 game in Cincinnati?
My God, I can't believe I just wrote this but I have to find the silver lining in tonight's game.
Sorry guys, but I'm just in a weird mood right now!!
It's already been mentioned before anybody says it's just us being poor losers. It's poor on many fronts regarding the actual players, travelling and injuries.
Do 2 games on Monday night. Not difficult.
Not only do I think Thursday games need to end, I think international games need to end, and the NFL should only have 1 bye week for the entire league, in the middle of the season.
The strength of schedule parity is already a distater, but to throw all these additional wrenches into that makes it that much worse.
