Anyone excited about the draft

Not really.

The way it was structured had a 23m signing bonus and 2 void years at the end.

Next year it would be more feasible.
Then that explains why he wasn’t traded. I’m also sure they didn’t want to trade him inside the division.

This draft could get a lot more interesting for Miami, especially if Weaver gets hired as a Head Coach. It'll mean an additional 3rd round pick in 2026 and 2027. There is also a possibility Miami gets awarded 4th and 7th comp picks in 2026. There hasn't been any update on whether Miami secured any comp picks yet. Alot depends on several factors. Ikhine's playing time, for starters, Miami's final points allowed ranking, which was tied into Davis' F/A contract and Hands final playing time percentage in San Diego. There are more factors, but im not sure of them at the moment.

Yup, this is where im at. I need to know if im rooting for the Dolphins to win while Ross owns this team before I can get excited. If he doesnt hire a GM I can believe in, Im turning on this team until Ross is gone.
Again? 🤣. Just busting your chops Chadzarus. Have a great day in KC. Hopefully, we will have a quality GM and new coach soon.

The draft is what I look forward the most every year as a Dolphins fan.
I’m way more excited now than I was 24 hours ago
I am always excited too despite bad results almost every single year.
I think almost every GM candidate we've talked to can make us stronger in the trenches and shore up our secondary. Like the Baltimore way, especially under Ozzie.

Keep Waddle and draft a big bodied WR day 1 or 2.
Another nice thing about this approach is that Waddles contract is winding down and managable by the time you need to pay the new WR (assuming he's worth a big new contract).

The idea of a competent GM selecting the picks coupled with a coach who can put them in the best positions to succeed is very exciting.

I’ll be curious what type of defense the new coach will want to run. Would love to see Downs, Styles, OL or Tate at #11. A dream would be Reese or Bain but don’t think they’ll be available.

Looking at the draft picks. I see Miami has 3 3rd round picks. 75, 87, 91. Now I would trade waddle for a 2nd or even another 3rd round pick and build for the future. Whoever the GM is, can’t be worse than Grier. What are your thoughts?

Trading Waddle should not be a given, Waddle is not a #1 receiver, but if Miami finds a quality Receiver (Hopefully big Receiver), Waddle should be back to reaching the 1000 yards club with 6 to 10 TDs.

If Miami gets an offer for Waddle they can't refuse, and have a plan how to get another pair of good to great Receiver (Hill is absolutely also gone unless he hugely restructures contract, and Miami actually wants him back), then letting Waddle go would be ideal.

And the cap hit?

We would immediately be on the hook for all the prorated $. Almost impossible given the cap situation.
Thank you, voice of reason.

Some folks just post post post with zero thought put into it lol. Trading Waddle for peanuts is... wildly stupid at this point.

Great options. Can make a good argument for all the players you listed. Maybe even Faulk.

My wildcard is Love. Won't happen, but the fact that Achane and Love are also good in the passing game means you could get them on the field together at times.

Conceivably Miami would have an elite running back for every offensive play, (no injuries).
