We have Grimes who is over 30. We have Finnegen who is over 30, with many mixed reviews. We have Taylor, who I like, but has not yet seen the field. There are two first rounds talents in Gilbert, 6'0", 200 pounds, and 4.37 speed, along with Dennard, 5'11", 200 pounds, and 4.5 speed.

They are pretty close. According to McShea, Gilbert will give you more big plays but, Dennard is better in coverage, and a VG tackler, especially on the short routes.

Where does a CB fit in for the #19 pick?

They also have Will Davis. I am not spending a first round pick on a cornerback this year if I am the Dolphins. Maybe someone in the mid rounds.

I'm not getting a CB in the first round, there are too many other positions that have actual holes.

If there are no offensive linemen worth #19, then I suppose its worth a look, it's not like we are set at CB. If we do stay at 19 I'm down with the BPA excluding DL, QB, RB.

If they are still available at 19 they would be very high on our board. BPA is the only way to draft so they should be in play. I doubt either is still around though.

Fuller at 19 would be my top choice. Kid can really play, supports the run too, probably the best corner in the draft.

No, we are really not going to be that bad off at corner...

Grimes is a All pro Corner, and will again be Miami main Corner.
Finnegan is good enough as a 2nd corner, and if he is able to return to old form, better then good enough.
Jamar Taylor did nothing last year because of injury, but he is still very talented, and can easily succeed...as long as he did not contract Martin Panseyitis...off-season reports so far do look bleak with the wanting to quit last year.
Will Davis might never be starter material, but he did prove to be very opportunistic last year, and could be a good guy to have in a dime defense.

Getting O-line help, another Offensive weapon for Tannehill, or a LB that can be a leader and impact player for the Dolphins are far to huge to spend on a position that we can deal with this year if we get nobody else.

I would say best player available for all picks, but the Dolphins just picked two cornerbacks last year. They haven't been given the opportunity to show what they can do yet. With that said, I want more players that score touchdowns as opposed to those that stop them. The defense will be fine, the offense is the problem.

another solid reason we need to go db early and often.

you do NOT win superbowls the likes of will davis and jimmy wilson at cb and safety. nothing on the bench and to many geezers.

HOWEVER.... we may have a real sleeper in MICHAEL THOMAS. he just may be the missing link at safety. he shined pretty big at the end of the year when he was brought in. jones is decent, not spectacular and delmas? well........ not enough game and injury concern isnt keeping the finz from drafting calvin pryor if he is there for us.

there will be at least 2-4 absolute blue chipper db's when we pic at #19. and we better take advantage as the db's in this draft just may be the best class to come out many, many years. this could be like the 83 qb draft only with db's.

you have to have PLAY MAKERS in your secondary, not just serviceable body's as davis and jimmy wilson are. and taylor? he has some risk. not enough on him to go, "hey, were set"!

and remember, hickey has NOTHING TO DO with any of the db's we have mentioned so he wont care about booting some of these nobody, never gonna be anything or too old db's from the ireland regime if he sees a play making upgrade in the draft.

we need play makers on BOTH sides of the ball. we need a shifty play maker to go with hartline [who had yet another 1,000yd season] and wallace [who was 30 yds short of a thousand yd season which would have given us two 1,000 yd wr's for the 2nd time in finz history!!]. nobody else has even flashed enough to keep hickey from taking a big time play maker at wr at #19. and there will be a couple there also to choose.

we do not have the horses in the secondary to shut off the hi flying offenses and big time wr's in todays nfl. this class of db's is big time and we need to draft to the strength of the draft for a change.

I would think long and hard about passing up Fuller at 19 personally. Now, I dont think that Hickey will take him. But he very well might be the BPA.

I think Jamar Taylor has a bright future ahead of him....but Fuller is a premium player at a premium position.

One of the reasons I'm so big on Fuller is that he could play safety. Like...he'd be amazing playing center field and then moving to cover slot guys when necessary. Fluid, rangy athlete who's phenomenal playing zone and who can bring it tracking the ballcarrier. If I was to guess, he won't even be available at 19.

i would worship at the feet of dennis hickey if he did that.

your dead on right as rain, that kid is a heart attack for wr's and he just may be the best of a BIG TIME CLASS of db's in this draft.

can you imagine a brent grimes/kyle fuller combo with cortland finnigan [if he makes the team] hanging around? yowza!!!

i want some of these db's from this class. calvin pryor or any of the top 6 rated cb's. outside of grimes, we have nothing special at cb.

and safety need big upgrade. not sold on jones. he is looking to me like just an ok safety. calvin pryor or ha-ha would start right off and both are better than jones right now!!

yes, we signed delmas but he is a BIG IF and both his contract wont kill us if he is beat out by a rooky and released from the team. MICHAEL THOMAS looked real good coming off the bench at seasoms end with NO time for practice or knowing ANY of the playbook. he could be something. but NONE of that would stop me from drafting calvin pryor if dropped to #19. after what ireland did with earl thomas i couldnt live through losing another sure fire pro bowl menacing enforcer.

Kyle Fuller could be your answer to a safety upgrade. Really.

I certainly won't be mad, but I'd really rather go in another direction. :idk:
