Edge is a year younger than Williams and puts up better stats. I think he could make an impact in the Wildcat. He can catch out of the backfield better than RB and RW. He might come cheap since I dont think alot of teams will look at him. He went to the U and he is born and raised in FLA. I think he still has some left in the tank. IN 10 years he has put up 7 1000+ yard seasons and 1 was 969 yards. He In his career he has 430 catches and 3345 yards with 11 TD. I dont think he is great and is certainly not what he once was but I do think he is better than RW. I like RW dont get me wrong and this isnt another sign him thread. I just really think he could make a huge impact splitting carries/catches with Brown. We could bring out the I Formation and have RB and Edge out of the backfield with White and Ginn out wide. Penny could have a ton of dump passes and Edge is good after the catch. They also released Travis LaBOy and Rod Hood also. I have always liked Hood and maybe he could resurect his career like we wanted Eric Green too. And Laboy was having a great year last year and then fizzled. He is only 27 so he has some years left. 23.5 sacks in 5 years. He had 4 sacks the 1st 5 games then didnt play as much. But we need a pass rusher and he could be a good bargain if we dont sign Taylor.
 
I have always been a huge egde fan but no. What we have is better. My guess is that Egde goes back to Indy since Rhodes left and he will do very well there too IMO!!
 
Im a huge fan of Edge but you have to think that he has been playing all these years where as Williams hasnt so in all....Williams is fresher. Imo I think he has to put back on a few pds so he doesnt get taking town as easily thats all

idk man, they have addai and just drafted donald brown in the first.
 
Everybody has opinions.

Even if they are pointless.
He is not better than RW nor would he be better in the Wildpat.
Besides we drafted somebody that will be better than both of them in the wildpat.

If you made a thread and said, "Anybody for signing Edge to bolster our team" then maybe and I mean maybe might agree.
 
Williams is in the final year of his contract. He's a cheap, reliable player. Keep Williams. I can see him retiring after this season.
 
You have to be joking.
Edge runs like a slow slug.
Ricky at least has some quickness and can bounce outside.
Cobbs is twice as good as Edge.
 
:lol: I was waiting for an "Edge" thread... I have a question; back in the day, how many "sign Cris Carter, or Tony Martin, or James McKnight, or Jamie Nails, or even Darrius Thompson threads were there? Yeah, lets take other teams crap, once again, cause it has proven to help so much :crazy:...

FYI, what makes you think edge, who has NEVER played in a wildcat offense, will be more productive than Ricky... Im willing to take the chance and NOT sign him :up: Edge is definately no where near the runner he used to be.. slow, cant break tackles, and is a cry baby
 
Frankly I'd be a lot more interested in Foote from the Steelers if he comes available.
