from dolphins vs panthers where 47 gets ball then gets up with ball and they call it panthers ball then dont allow challenge?

im trying to get it because my dad is trying to tell me oh ya 47 didnt get up with the ball carolina did .. on nfl.com the image for the highlight shows the play but the highlight skips by it like it never happen .. I just payed for game rewind on nfl.com yet there is no preseason on there... ugh

He clearly had it in the replays. He grabs the ball and then rolls onto his back and is holding the ball against his chest. He seems to think the play is dead since he was already touched by a defender and when he relaxes then a Panthers player grabs the ball.

yeah he got up and walked away with the ball...and looked shocked when he realized it wasnt miami ball.

can someone explain why that wasn't reviewable? That seemed like the weirdest thing to me and the given explanation of "it didnt go out of bounds" didn't really cut it for me.

I don't understand why possession was not allowed to be challenged in that situation . . . unless the whistle blew the play dead, which is impossible because the official was still trying to decide who had the ball . . . so I dunno what went wrong and why we couldn't challenge.
