This guy was supposed to challenge "mouth" for playing time last year before going down with an ACL tear. Now that "mouth" has been FINALLY released, it appears this guy may get a chance to get some reps assuming his rehab went well and he is ready. Supposedly he could cover well at Iowa and that was one reason we drafted him. The signing of Tim Burnett pretty much assures his impact will be limited but you can never have enough LB depth, especially guys that can cover the TE, of which, we have sorely lacked for years...

I haven't heard much about him and would like to know how his rehab has gone. If that went well, I see no reason why he won't be getting a couple snaps on the field. Otherwise, of course, he could end up being Eddie Moore.

Man, I just had a Nam flashback! I am a Gator Fan, but didn't mind Alabama too much until now. I freaking hate them now! If Saban is doing an interview, I have to change the channel so I don't smash my big screen.

Moore was drafted by the Wanntashe

It's Kevin Barnett, not Tim. And AJ will be a backup and maybe get a look at in nickel situations. Dansby isn't a bad coverage linebacker so it might be hard for AJ to get on the field on D.

Yeah how is Edds? I am looking forward to his ability to play the ball, maybe snag a few picks this season.

Not to be a douche since it really doesnt matter but its actually Burnett....Kevin Burnett.

It's actually Kevin BUrnett. But, who's counting...

This is no Eddie Moore there isn't really anything to lose here. Edds is just a leftover 4th round pick with not only an injury history it's his only history. I have high hopes for Edds. This guy can probably cover better than many DBs we have seen come and go and probably better hands than many WRs that we have seen get decent contracts with Miami. I think he's got a real good chance of at least catching on as a specialist in a nickel or something if he stays healthy. It would be great if he can become a full time LB.

I remember the Mad Dog suggested they sign up the guy that knocked out Eddie Moore for special teams. Moore was only a 2nd round pick but I believe there was no 1st round pick that year so he was kind of a 1st round dissapointment.

Dansby and Kevin Burnett are both excellent in coverage. Edds isn't going to see the field much this year unless there is an injury.

I think Edds can be used in nickel situations, while we take Misi off the field and move Burnett outside as a pass rusher . . . or even Dansby. The addition of Burnett gives us options that we just didn't have with Crowder.

Edds was arguably the #1 coverage LB in the draft last year . . . it's clear Miami is TIRED of the TE and the scat backs whoopin them on defense . . . it truly was our biggest weakness on defense ONCE AGAIN last year.

If a team like the Ravens find Ray Rice on 3rd down . . . there will be THREE guys who can hang with him out in the flats.

I was stated in a press conference that Burnett can cover the TE and he has great range and mobility. This was one of our weaknesses on defense that the Patriots and Jets always exploited. When teams needed a big play, they would gash Crowder. If this guy is as good as advertised, that weakness should be solidified. Good move by Ireland.

I am not sold on Edds. He may be useful but he really hasn't made any kind of impact.
