For the first time in years we will be an O that will stretch D's, this will open up the middle of the field and our running game will benefit the most. I just can't wait to see the O take the field knowing it's gonna be fun to watch. Can you guy's imagine our D rested in December because we have an O that won't go 3 and out most of the game??

Gus gives a glimps into whats to come good read.

Let's actually see this offense before we get too excited. It sounds fun though

Yeah, lets sit on our hands....sounds like fun!! It's not like I said we were gonna be a SB O. Why don't we all just be pessimistic because we have no talent on O and we will never again see a O threat in Miami!! All I said we won't be the same basic run,run swing pass O we were under Wanny. Sorry for tooting Miamis horn! :shakeno:

I wouldn't call his comment pessimistic... he is taking a "wait & see" approach, that's just being realistic. He acknowledges that it will be better, and fun to watch.

DW's offense was offensive.

The 3 yards and a cloud of dust offensive strategy had the following effects:

1. Made Jay Fiedler look like a winner
2. Scared away our top running back who didn't want to get killed
3. Made two All Pro talented WRs look like Ravens
4. Made an All Pro TE look like Jeb Putzier!! (I think Jeb will be good this year, just not last year!)
5. Cost us our OC, who wanted to decide his own offensive calls in Oakland
6. Caused DW to hire a running backs coach with no OC experience as OC to be a yes man! (When a Super Bowl OC was on the staff)
7. Left no room for an adjustment when no running back was around to carry the load!

Has to be better than anything we've seen the last 5 yrs

i think you pretty much covered it all. close the thread.

Last year was abysmal. Before that, I would say there was nothing wrong with the coaching, it was the ofensive, offensive line. WR was a weakness too.

I think last year exposed the fact that Wannstadt knew nothing about offense, and he was incapable of taking over the OC, when we didn't have one (Forester was not an OC).

once Wanny was fired, I thought we'd see Forester's real offense, it wasn't much better. I swear, every pass play had AJ doing a play action.

I misread the title. For a minute I thought you were saying that Dave was on that TV show "The OC".

I'll take the "wait & see" approach too.

For one thing, going deep has to be effective. If it isn't, the opposite happens and our defense is on the field with no rest because our OC wants to bomb it out.
The key is to take what the defense gives ya. That is what New England does so well. They will take the 5 yards 100x in a row if that is what you are gonna give up, but as soon as you move that safety up, BAM!! They open a fresh wound for a TD.

If our offense can do that effectively, then my grin may change into a full tooth smile.
