Really didn't take any shots downfield... I think there was concern over the protection Chad was getting as well as throwing against NA in the Raider S. Nonetheless they should've open things up a bit more early in the game.... seems as though they were happy with our D winning this one for us

YES, MUCH TOO CONSERVATIVE!!!!!

Since the second quarter I was YELLING for the Phins to go shotgun. The Raiders were stuffing 8, 9 and even 10 in the box all day long!!!!! Phins should have been able to get something over the top. Glad we got the win though.

GO PHINS~!

i was not able to watch the game, but we finished with over 220 yards rushing correct? we must have been doing something right then if we were able to run against 8 man fronts consistently? did we attempt to hit on plays down the field?

The Phins did have some nice runs and Ginn had a nice TD run of about 45 yards for the TD in the 1st quarter. It was a fake handoff up the middle and then Ginn took it from CP on the end around. It was beauty and will be on all the highlight reels.

No, sadly, there weren't really any shots down field. On the last drive of the game CP FINALLY lined up in shotgun and hit some quick strikes over the middle and made it look too easy. I thought they could have tried it some more. However, the pass protection again wasn't the best and CP looked antsy in the pocket even when there wasn't real pressure.

agree.. I think they could have open up the game and put some points on the raiders D. It seem they did not even try to go down field at all. I hope it changes next week vs the pats. We will need a passing game to keep on winning.

maybe it makes sense as you have to assume the strength of the raiders team is their secondary right? i would expect to see us open it up against the pats, after all their linebackers and secondary is beat up bad at this point

It was extremely conservative. Maybe we don't want to show the Pats any new looks for next week?

I didnt think it was conservative because we didnt take shots down the field. I thought it was conservative running on 3rd and 5 only to punt on 4th down when at that time another first down and even a FG a few plays later would have ended the game.

I also don't like throwing 3 yard outs or slants when its 3rd and 6+. Just throw the ball 10 yards and try and pick up the first down. Don't rely on missed tackles or YAC to pick it up.

Man, you said it. I was beating my head against the wall when they did that crap. I don't understand it. If the team knows the down and distance, there should be NO ROUTES RUN FOR AN AMOUNT UNDER WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE 1ST DOWN!!! I don't freaking get it. Even the check down receiver at that point should be at or beyond the 1st down marker. It's not like it's 3rd and 15 or more. Sheesh.

That's what I was just thinking. Maybe this team has toyed with their last two opponents to give the Pats some false hope. BAM! Then punch them in the mouth.

I'm sure that's not the case but I hope it's something like that. I'm not very happy with the way we played. But a win is a win.

The game was way closer than it should have been. If we don't pick up the pace on offense we can kiss our winning streak goodbye next week.

I thought our clock management at the end of the first half was awful, we could have scored.

clarify this for me please. in the game day thread posters were claiming we got the short end before halftime on a hoculi call, in regards to some kind of time run off

Yes, that's true. Chad called time out with roughly 10 seconds left in the 1st half. The officials let the clock run all the way down to 0. They adjusted it, but only gave us 3 seconds. That effectively took 1 additional play from us and the opportunity to get into field goal range.

too damn conservative!!! try a throw it up there, let Ginn or Camarillo fight for the ball down the field atleast once
