Jack Del Rio, a 4 year coach in the NFL reconstructed his Jaguars team from the ground up, just the way he vision his team to be since he took over in 2003. They have a very dominating, physical defense, and a pretty damn good offense as well. A legit Super Bowl contender in my eyes.

The last coach to ever take a team to a Super Bowl in less than 3 years is Don Shula, back in the 70's.

So what's my point? It's going to take time guys. If you want our team to be contending in the playoffs like true warriors, us fans will have to be patient. Nick Saban is working with what he has, and I bet his plans for Miami aren't even 25% complete; I mean, they can't be. There are many powerhouses in the NFL that makes our team look like a joke-- yes, that's the reality.

Hope for the best and take a deep breath. There will be some tough, questionable decisions to be made in the future, but all will be for the best of our favorite team, the Miami Dolphins.

I think we are in great hands with Nick Saban, and although it may not look so good right now, I got a good feeling that 2-3 years from now things will be different.

Nice post man but it won't be able to penetrate some thick skulls around here.

People have to remember that Saban is taking over a shell of a team. Yes they had veterans on the Defense along with 2 on offense but 4-5 years of horrid drafts have left this team void of a youthful base of players that should be taking over positions or just now coming into their own right now.

Why does everyone think we have so many holes to fill on both sides of the ball? Saban has a huge job ahead of him.
He's done a good job of bringing in some good Vet free agents/trades but it's going to take time to build the youth of the team again.

Pretty damn good offense? They aren't bad, decent receivers, but 9 points. Heck, we scored 17 against this D. You do have a good post though. Do keep in mind, Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor are the two main players on D, and Traylor, Wilkinson, Zgonina won't be here in a few years. Zach and JT are the heart of our D, and are not replaceable. Anyway, Pitts is 1-1, we are 0-2, 1 game difference. Anything can happen.

Hey, I'm rooting for 14-2.. Not going to give up, but not going to raise my expectations so high on our 2nd year coach. He still got a ton of work to be done, and I think some people are putting Nick Saban in the hot seat way too early.

and dont forget Mike Holmgren took around 4-5 to put together the Seahawks!

I have alot of faith in Nick Saban I just listened to his press conference and this guy will lead are team.

Your talking about the last coach to do that for the dolphins right???? Gruden won it in his first year in TB, Belichek won it in his second season in NE., etc. That's only recently, thie list goes on and on.

The issue here is that the Bills team that just beat Miami has a pathetic passing attack and a defense with plenty of holes being filled by rookies. Somebody who isn't a Bills fan come forward and tell me that the Bills had more talent. There is no excuse that covers for letting a less talented team out-execute, particularly at the home opener with 10 days rest.

Excellent post.

I think maybe we as fans were a little unrealistic with our visions of where this team is right now. Believe me, I can't wait to see my Dolphins back in the Super Bowl, and I think it will be within a few years.

You can't undo five years of mediocre to absolute awful personnel moves made by Wannstedt and Spielman within a year and a half. We don't have a a flatout stud on defense right now (Jason Taylor is still awesome and Zach is well, Zach). Channing Crowder is a star in the making, but we don't have that Shawn Merriman type who can absolutely take over a game. Our "d" is getting older and we are in the process of retooling it. Saban did a great job getting the most out of this team last year. And I think you will see significant improvement in the way this team plays later in the year. The secondary needs to gel, Daunte needs to get healthy and his confidence back and the o-line needs to get their ***** together.

A few more really good drafts and free agent signings and this team will be world beaters. Mark my words.

Gruden had a very talented Buccaneers team he inherited from Tony Dungy, so that transition was much easier. They've slipped A LOT once Dungy's players left.

As for Belichick's first two years in New England, he did have a good group of fairly young, very good players (i.e. Ty Law, Willie McGinest, Teddy Bruschi, Ted Johnson, Troy Brown and others). Adding FAs like Antowain Smith (who was the chain moving RB they needed) and a stud DE in Richard Seymour and of course the steal of the 2000 draft, Tom Brady, really put them over the top.

Sorry...Bills fan here....

We do have more talent on D.... Or at least equal/more ditributed.... obviously our front 4 got more pressure than your older worn down guys.... JT is the biggest name, but as a group I'll take our younger quicker rotation.....

Fletcher and Thomas are equals at this point in thier career.....Crowell is better than Crowder, and Ellison is just TKO's replacment for the time being....

Both our corners are better than both your corners, both our safeties are gonna be better than both your current safeties if they aren't already.

OUr ST's... as a unit is better...kicker on down.

OUr OL looked better than yours. Chambers is the best of the WR's...but Evans isn't that far behind. Roscoe, Reed and Price are equal to Booker, Hagan, Welker.

Ronnie and Willis are equal. Although Ronnie would be better on a better team....

Point is, aside from a few superstars you really haven't got anything but some OK role players...and they aren't playing there roles very well....

I'll hang up and listen.

Oh man, the Jaguars were awesome last night. They are a legit SB contender. Fins, have a long way to play with the Jags, not on the same level. They have an awesome D.

The Jaguars looked great last night. They've always had a very solid defense, and it's the offense that has been slowly retooling. They are one hard hitting group, and play a very physical game....

Saban has put together more of a "mash unit" in Miami, compared to Del Rio in Jacksonville. While we're treading water, they're on dry land. Head to head, the Jaguars would destroy us in my opinion.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

The Jags have a real defense unlike the Fins. The Jags shut down Parker, the Fins let him run wild. The Jags shut down the passing game, the Fins let a backup QB throw for three td's. Big difference.

We have to play them too :(
