On the rumors section there is something about Minnesota wanting to move up. Would anyone with insider please paraphrase what it says. Specifically I'm interested if they mention specific compensation. Also, while you're at it if there is anything else of note that came out today in the rumors section please mention.

Stuff that mentions us:

The rumblings were that the Vikings were shooting for a top-five pick, perhaps the second (Miami) or third (Cleveland) choice overall, to ensure landing one of the premier wide receiver prospects.

A deal-up with either the Dolphins or Browns might make more sense. According to the points system that most teams use, and which assigns a value to every pick in the draft, Minnesota doesn't have enough ammunition, at least not with its two first-round choices, to land the top pick.

Alex Smith is not listed to have "interest" in the Dolphins. Ronnie Brown has the Dolphins listed.

it just says about them possibly moving up with us or cleveland with hteir 2 number 1s because if they moved to the number1 overall spot theyd prob have to throw in some more according to the value chart... this is to get braylon who they like much more than mike williams...

it also talks about smith wanting a huge contract bigger than mannings... and how it would be cheaper for the niners to get rodgers, and even cheaper if they went with edwards who was visiting with them today to talk contract numbers...

It Pretty much sais that it make more since points wise based on the draft chart that Minnesotta trades with the dolphins or clevland not SF.

Here is what it has about the Vikings

Apr. 18 -
There were rumors over the weekend that the Vikings, who hold the seventh and 18th slots in the first round, were dangling those picks to San Francisco in an effort to acquire the draft's top pick. Minnesota officials declined to discuss those rumors. ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli is hearing that Minnesota was trying to move up, but not necessarily into the No. 1 spot. The rumblings were that the Vikings were shooting for a top-five pick, perhaps the second (Miami) or third (Cleveland) choice overall, to ensure landing one of the premier wide receiver prospects.
The feeling is that the Minnesota brass prefers Michigan wide receiver Braylon Edwards over Mike Williams of Southern California. A deal-up with either the Dolphins or Browns might make more sense. According to the points system that most teams use, and which assigns a value to every pick in the draft, Minnesota doesn't have enough ammunition, at least not with its two first-round choices, to land the top pick.

The seventh pick in the draft is worth 1,500 points and the 18th spot carries a value of 800 points. That's 2,400 total points. The top choice is valued at 3,000 points. So, if Minnesota and San Francisco were to swap, the deal would have to be sweetened. On the other hand, the Miami pick, second overall, is worth 2,600 points. The third pick, held by the Browns, is worth 2,200 points. So a trade with those teams is certainly possible.

The problem with the pick value chart is that not every situation is the same. The Value chart is a handy tool but you have to use a little comman sense too when evaluating a possible trade. Without a clear cut top player and with many more teams trying to trade down than up you are not going to get equal "chart" value this year if.

Hey bro, do you know a site that has where college players say they would like to go on draft day. That would be cool to see.

I don't have a comment on your comment. I just observed how many games you were listed as the champion at.

Okay Byroan, enough is enough. You are eighteen. It's time to get a job. ;)

That is an interesting statement. The point is the Vikes want Edwards. How long are you willing to risk him being available. That's the question. The vikes are gonna have to decide what Edwards is worth to them, not what the 2nd pick in the draft is worth.
