I hate this time of year, when the Dolphins (last decade) season comes to a close. Even though other teams are alive, football is over for me. Having had time to sort out my feeling for the 2009 Dolphins a couple of points:

  1. Optimism: We have a QB, Offensive line with depth, Ronnie Brown, Ricky (1 more year), Patrick Cobbs, a core of 2,3,4 recievers.
  2. Optimism: We have parts of the defense and fewer holes than last year. It will get better with good off season pickups and the draft.
  3. Sparano will continue to grow and become more comfortable.
Though we didn't make the playoffs, I can certainly say every game this year was entertaining. Our guys fought with the most difficult scheduled opponents and did not complain of injuries to many key parts of the team. The 2009 Dolphins were a fun (sometimes frustrating) and entertaining football team.

Closing Points:

1. Do we really want a new OC & DC? Like many, I question many calls, strategies and game plans, but changing the playbook now? It would take another year to grasp the changes. And then we may change our Head coach if he isn't more successful next year... Where does the carousel end?

2. Not sure if we can do this, but I would be content to have Jason Allen and Ted Ginn Jr. on the team next year as special team specialists IF they restructure their contracts! Otherwise trade, sell, dump, or ebay...

3. Need enlightenment about Pat White. Never made sense from draft day to the moment he got injured? No trade value, why take up a roster space? Possible 3rd QB versus, kick off return man, versus utility man like Jim Jenson?

4. Believe in our legends. Both Dan Marino and Don Shula think this coaching staff and the team strategy is optimisitic. Nobody wanted the injuries and this year's losses, but this year is exponentially better than the Wanstadt, Saban years.

Happy New Year and Lets keeping getter better for a strong push in 2010.:thanks:
