Aramis Ramirez agrees to deal with cubs

Angers me, I was hoping the Angels would sign him. Wonder if we now turn our attention to Soriano. I'm just worried that we'll settle for JD Drew and pray that's the bat we need.

Hey you can't be mad at the Angels, there was a report that they offered him a 4 or 5 year deal for 16 mill a year but he turned down more money to stay in Chicago.

I'm not big on him, he's extremely streaky and not a good defender. I don't think he's worth the money he's getting and most certainly isn't worth 16 million a year.

His streakiness worried me a bit also. I didnt know about his fielding, Angels had enough errors last year, so maybe not throwing huge money at him will work out for the best. I know Moreno and Stoneman are committed to adding a bat just a little anxious to see who it'll be.

Ramis feilding has improved. i personally think he has an above average glove at 3rd.

It's hard to say that a 5/$73 contract is below market value, especially for a streaky, one-dimensional hitter who puts up gaudy stats despite long slumps and an okay at best glove at third. But the truth is, considering the amount of money Carlos Lee is going to get when he's a considerably worse fielder and not quite as good hitter, the Cubs got a good deal here.

14.6 mill a year he isn't worth. But the Cubs have deep pockets and this guy is a run producer in that little ballpark if you got guys in front of him to get on base!

Probably overpaid a little but everyone does in MLB these days.
