49 million for Nate Burleson?

Very suprising from a good organization like that. That offer is ridiculous for a guy like Burleson. Not even a top 15WR in the league.

are you serious, thats how much the contract is? but what is he making a year? half of that money he might not even see so.

yea i think thats tooooo much money

The contract is very heavily back-loaded and stuffed with guarantees that only the Vikings would have to cough up. In reality, Seattle will pay Burleson $14 million over 4 years. Which, in my opinion, is still too much for a guy who had 328 yards and one TD last year.

Just so they don't take Schulters, but the way they are throwing money around who know's what they will offer him.

You guys are so tripped out over these new age large deals. The cap will fluctuate larger than usual, and thus player salaries will follow suit. It's like saying I'm putting down a 5 billion dollar downpayment for a house that will be built in 500 years. It's all relative.

Seattle is spending money like it is going out of style, do they tyhink they are the Redskins?

That's just ONE of the reasons why they may be "OUT OF THEIR MINDS".

Why would they sign Nate Burleson when they have Darrell Jackson and Bobby Engram in their receiving core? Those are two solid, underrated, wide receivers.

Darrell Jackson has been one of my favorite receivers for a while now. The guy is explosive, has all the tools, catches anything, and has been consistent since his rookie season.

I know that Bobby Engram is going to his 11th season, but damn. He had a great 2005 season.

How many more receivers do they need? If they needed a receiver so badly, they should have resigned Joe Jurevicious instead of going crazy throwing money at an unproven receiver like Nate Burleson.

Paul Allen is spending all his Microsoft money.

They have the money to spend and thats what they are doing. Nate could be a very good player and he has not hit the prime of his career so you could argue that we will have to wait and see. He had a good year a couple of years ago.

ugh paul allen. give nate burleson 49 mill. but ask for money from portland fans.:shakeno:

Yeah some ppl are just greedy!

Has anyone actually SEEN the contract? You guys are crazy if you think he is going to see all 49 million. If what I have read is true, its essentially a 4 year deal worth 14 million and he will be cut/restructured after that 4th year. Figure thats a little over 3 million a year for a young very talented WR. I would have gladly taken that contract for Burleson. Thats pretty much what we are paying Booker to be our #2 WR.

It's a 7 year 49 million dollar offer sheet that Seattle offered to Burleson. If Minnesota doesn't match the offer once the 7 days are up, he's officially a Seattle Seahawk. I'm not sure how long it has been but I think the 7 days are almost up.
